CoachBuckett Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Final from Danville. Danville goes 1-1 on the season. Franklin County drops to 0-2. Both teams will continue to improve through out the season.
jvdfc Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Sounds like improvement by the Flyers from last week. Keep working guys. The D kept them in the game as long as they could. Got to get the O going. Looks like Coach Sheridan had the D ready. Good job Nick. :thumb:
Wireman Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 I just got in from the game (which was enjoyed with AdoptedAdmiral, TitleTownClown and 83Admiral). The first half was like watching paint dry, but the action was a little better in the second half. Danville shot themselves in the foot several times - few fumbles, roughing the punter, muffing a punt, holding penalty that brought a 50-yard run back, mistiming the jump on a deep pass that allowed the receiver to make the long catch, allowing a run around end to get 15 yards on a 3rd and 15, etc. They are playing a young roster though and they will improve as the season progresses. Pepe Brand (#16) might be the future of Danville football. If he continues to progress, he stands to be the next great Admiral RB, IMO. Franklin County played decent defense, but their offense looked like a non-factor. Danville pretty much gave them 6 points on a roughing the punter penalty and then a muffed punt on the same series of downs. I felt like they could've done more damage by throwing it down the field a little more, but that is JMO.

I'll catch up with you soon.:thumb: I agree. I have been watching Pepe since he was in the 6th grade and I couldn't wait to see him in high school. I am glad he came back to Danville and is playing this year. I hope things continue to go good for him.

titletownclown Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 I pretty much echo Wireman's observations. #16 (Brand) definitely looks to have a great future with the Ads. Hard to believe he's just a sophomore. Also, I had a great time playing dinosaurs with Wireman's son. Mini Wireman is quite skilled in the way of the dinosaur.

mcpapa Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Nice bounceback for the Admirals. Brand showed flashes in limited time the week before, his stats in this one don't surprise me at all.
oldman75 Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Did Will Dunn play? If not how long is he out?
Hearsay Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Good to see some mad dinosaur skills in Danville. I think a young Wireman is called a Strawman.
ADopted ADmiral Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Did Will Dunn play? If not how long is he out? Not really...I think He was in one or two plays on Defense...I would say He will be back next week for the Corbin game...
cardinalsvoice Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Congrats to Danville from all of us down here in Mayfield...good luck to you guys in your next game!!!
