I know Doug Preston. I don't need to call him and I am not starting rumors. I'm just stating what I've read and asking questions. SO if that is wrong. I will not post no more about him and I think we need to get back to the original topic and who will be the new coach at Bullit East. :dancingpa

I know for a fact he interviewed West Jessamine. The other schools have been rumors as far as I know. If you read my post, I'm saying I'm not trying to ruin a mans reputation, I am just curious. :irked:

Apparently he was on the hot seat, so no wonder why he was looking to leave.

Apparently he is going after a OC job somewhere according to an earlier thread. I dunno if its true, just what I thought I seen. Perry would do great no matter where he is at.

What schools has he shown interests in this year alone? Garrard, West Jessamine, Bullit East, J-town - seem to be sure schools. Any other ideas? This is not a post to get rumors started or to ruin a mans reputation - just curious about where all he has applied and what his intentions are as a HC that bounces around alot.

Coach Jerry Perry is a great man. He is a great football mind and to have a head coach as an assistant at Danville, done the things he has as a HC at Garrard, done the things Sam Harp has trusted him with at Danville, won at least 6 state titles at DHS - Pikeville would be lucky to have a man with a discipline and love for the game! :thumb:

I agree, a school that large should have the support of all teams that participate in athletics and shouldn't have that much of a changeover in coaches. Football is a revenue sport and needs to have all administrators support so they can supply other teams with funding. I wish East Ridge the best in the future :thumb:

Someone told me that all Pike Co. (Belfry) assistants made something like $5,000

I heard he wanted the West Jessamine job pretty bad, and interviewed. He seems to always be in this area after leaving for a few years. I personally don't think it would be a good hire if Garrard wants to re instill discipline, and a winning tradition. My reasons: Look at what he done at Paris as HC - ran a lot of kids off and then came back to this area to be an assistant. (He's assisted at Lincoln, Danville, Garrard) While at Rowan Co. he only won a handful of games and dropped his team out of district to be able to compete, which I think is a horrible move for such a big school. I also would like to think he interviewed for the Garrard job before Jeff Hester got it, and thought the same thing about dropping GC out of district to "build" for the future. If you can't play out of district with teams you can compete against, how can you survive a district opponent that has played better competition and may be more capable of producing positive results.

This is another person from Danville that has gotten the Rowan job. I wish him luck and hope he can better the program from where it has been!

Everyone talks about spring ball, but what schools really have enough to particpate in either 7-7 or 11-11? A lot of school's best athletes or either in baseball, basketball, track. I know this thread is about Lincoln replacing Coach French but this is just an idea I thought of.

Apparently there was a thread about Dunbar. I hear that they have to share the entire field with the soccer teams, so they only get half of the field. If they go over they must practice on the baseball or softball field. He may be wanting out. I have heard he has put in for at least 2 or 3 jobs. David is a fine man, I wish him the best. I wish Pikeville the best in finding a quality coach.

Who was interviewed? Who is going to be the new canidates to be interviewed?

Congrats to these young men. Cumberlands is a great program to be with and a force to be reckoned with in the MSC. Nice to see the triple option alive and well in Kentucky.

IMO Garrard always has talent. Its up to the coach to have discipline, a system and run it and support from the administration and community. This job seems to be like a diamond in the ruff, but can they ever get over the hump?
