This game could be a turning point for both teams for the rest of the season. It helped both defenses contain athletes no matter who or who didn't make the plays when they needed to be made. It also may help build character for a young Danville team and GRC may just be a play or two away from just being right in the mix at the end of the season for playoff home field advantage. Needless to say, you schedule tough opponents for this to help the program and good luck to both teams for the remainder of the season.

There is a lot of hype with Whitaker being back in the eastern part of the state after being out west for a few years. What kind of assistants are there? It is up to the student-athletes to perform at a high level after struggling the previous years. If they win the opening game, the Whitaker Bank Hall of Fame Bowl, this could set the town for the season.

What are their scrimmages?

No problem.

They indeed have a 10 game schedule for this upcoming season being in the district with favorite Somerset, and Garrard Co., Wayne Co. Casey Co., Taylor Co. Jackson Co. played 10 game varsity schedule last season finishing 2-8 in its first season of football. They have a long way to go to compete and with slim to no facilities as of now, its even harder. I wish Jackson Co. the best in building a solid football program.

Is there a rule on kids doing anything with a team until October 15.?

When does the dead period start? Where can I find it on KSHAA web site?

When does the dead period begin? I thought it ended in June, therefore give football/basketball kids a chance to concentrate on football.

What are the rules on dead period. Are head coaches allowed to have contact with players in any form? I hear of some basketball coaches encouraging players to miss football for basketball tournaments, open gym, etc...

Last year was last year, this is a new year and new season & start for new players and coaches, but i do see some teams that look better on paper than Powell.

I see them going 6-4 Are they hosting a bowl game this season? Is it against Jackson Co. ? What is it called?

Perry has ties to the principal i do believe, therefore he could land some extra consideration that way. Good luck to JCHS and there search for a new coach.

They hired the guy from Betsy Layne. I have no clue where the other coach from East Ridge went.
