I know this topic is in another post, but since that post is up to nearly 4 pages and seems to be headed toward discusses Clay County football, I have started another. I have heard interviews will take place this Saturday. It seems that some of the coaches interviewing have taken other jobs, like Parkey at the Rock and Campbell at Scott(maybe). WHo is going to be interviewed??

From what I've heard, a guy named Centers at Madison Central was going to interview for the job. I think he is a graduate of Madison Southern.

Dave Brumley would be the best choice. He played and COACHED on sme really great teams at Boone Co. Ran the "O" at Scott High when they made and won a game in the playoffs a few years ago, and knows the kids very well at Madison Southern. Also, he has got almost 20 kids from Southern who didn't play last year to come out from day one during the winter program. I know that there are some very qualified people who have applied, but why on Earth wouldn't you hire a guy who has already begun a building process at this school. He is young and has already shown he will put in the work...I want my son to play for this guy. He is knows the game and it's time for him to run a program.

I hope Coach Scenters gets the job. He is the one I am pulling for and he has earned a Head Coaching Job in Madison County.

Seems a lot of posts have come out in favor of Brumley. Crumjr, you said he ran the O at Scott, did he also run it at Southern? If so, for how long? Did he run it a few years ago when they had that very good team? He seems he has paid his dues also. Any word on who else will interview?

Why didn't he get these 20 players out when Coach Carter was there.

Maybe those kids didn't want to play for Coach Carter...you thought of that. He was the head coach, not Brumley...I give my support for Brumley...He demands a lot from those kids and they love him...the WHOLE SCHOOL LOVES THIS GUY!

Why would Parkey interview, he is the coach at Rockcastle now?

 

Okay, so far we know that Parkey, Scenters, and Campbell have been granted interviews: anyone else?

 

GRANTED interviews. He would have been interviewed had he not taken the Rockets job. :thumb:

What is his back ground?

 

Mark Scenters played at Madison Southern when the school first opened or short after. I think he coached there, and at Berea, until the 2000 season when he came to Madison Central to be on Paul Rains' staff. He has coached there since on Kenny Turner's staff. He has been offered jobs with other schools, but stayed due to his loyalty to his players and the school...and the Richmond/Berea area.

 

Coach Scenters has the drive, the personality, and the knowledge to help Southern become repsectable again. If I were on the hiring committee, I wouldn't have waited this long to hire him. He has paid his dues.

What makes someone so deserving of the job when he turned down numerous offers to be an assistant at Southern????????????? Plus Brumley didn't teach at MS last year he has done this with the kids now that he teaches there at the high school.
