Mad. Southern Interviews

Featured Replies

It is not what the coach deseves, but what the kids deserve. Do you not think that Southern can not find an experienced head coach to turn there program around?

Thats right it is what the kids deserve, and they deserve someone who is making them better right now...BRUMLEY...he has worked his tail off with these kids for several years now, he knows what it takes to make these kids better he just needs the chance to show what he can do has a head coach. Scenter had his chance to come down there and work, but instead his heart has been at Central. Southern doesn't need some hand me down from Central...if he was such a great coach why doesn't he just stay at Central and take that job when Turner leaves. Brumley is also working with the Middle School kids and their development to make sure the future of Southern can become strong. Scenters needs to stay at Central, because Southern doesn't need Central's staff to make it better.

Sounds like they definetly need an outsider to come coach. It seems some want one from Central and some from Southern. Someone is going to be upset. Why not get an outside and let them pick a staff and keep everyone happy. If neither side gets their choice, then neither can say what could have been. It isnt always the best idea to get someone in the program, maybe there is someone better suited for the job and will dd a great job of turning them around to the glory days.

Becasue this is whatr will happen if either person mentioned get the job. See caption below.

Slapfest...

With all due respect... I'm trying to figure out if you're a Mark Scenters detractor or just a Brumley supporter???? Either way... If you're a Madison Southern guy, you should want what is best for those kids... Coach Scenters would be a great choice as the next head football coach at Southern. He has been very involved in both sides of the ball in his tenure at Central, he knows the game inside and out, he believes in discipline and accountability AND he's a wonderful family man to boot. Furthermore, to my knowledge, he's a very respected teacher at Central as well. I do not know Mr. Brumley, but I think it's wonderful that he teaches at MSHS and has continued to work with those kids during the off season. That alone, however, does not automatically make him the best choice to lead your program. The best candidate should get the job, regardless of where they're from or where they've been working.

Good luck...

:lol::lol:

Why would Scenters, or anyone, make a lateral move to play weaker competition? Yes, Southern plays Rock and Bell, but that's it.....he can really prepare himself to be a head coach by playing McCreary Central, Grant County, and Bryan Station.

Scenters has coached against the likes of St. X, Highlands, Lexington Catholic, Boone County, Henry Clay, and many other top programs in the state for 8 seasons. Madison Central has made the playoffs every single year Scenters has been there, can Southern say the same thing?

Is Scenters the offensive coordinator or defensive coordinator at Madison Central? When was the last time Madison Central played St. X? Refresh my memory

Coach Scenters was previously the defensive coordinator at Central under Coach Rains.... He has coached on the offensive side of the ball under Coach Turner.... Primarily working with the OLine...

Madison Central played St. X in the Bowl Game at Lexington Catholic in 2000 or 2001...

Southern doesn't need Central's staff to make it better.

I beg to differ. :sssh:

Former Madison Central assistants (98-01) who are now head coaches:

David Hensley, East Jessamine and Paul L. Dunbar

Jason Chappel, Perry Central and South Laurel

Mark Dixon, Hazard

Todd Harris, Berea and Jackson County

Kenny Turner, Madison Central

Todd Shipley, Shelby County

I don't know who will or should get the Madison Southern job, but Madison Central has been the most underachieving program in central Kentucky the past 10-12 years.

I didnt realize they had played, maybe I just forgot but its true X won 56-3.

While I do agree with this to an extent.....and I'll end the Madison Central talk here.....Mark Scenters would be a great hire for Madison Southern and anyone that coached with him, or played for him would agree 100%.

I heard Wayne Lainhart may be a candidate as well...any word?

Like I said before, is Southern in such bad shape that they can not attract a experienced head coach, that has experience turning a program around.

Mark would be an excellent choice. :thumb:

Earl Igo might have one

Wow, this one is getting hot!!! Is Campbell's name finally scratched off the list after the whole Scott High thing??

This spot is definitely the biggest debated job this year. It has been fun to watch:fire: In a sadistic way...
