Mad. Southern Interviews

Featured Replies

I thought they may have went after the coach from Clay Co.

Sounds as if though they have a bigger fish on the line. Small college coaches maybe better from a coaching aspect (such as X and O's) than their counterparts from the big leagues. In the big show it is more about recruiting and motivating!!!

I have coached in a small college setting trust me they are as qualified as anyone.

The past 2 Madison Southern coaches came from the college level. Teddy Taylor had NO success and Carter was generally mediocre. What is the deal with Southern and the hiring of college coaches?

Blockbuster may have just made the best point of the entire thread. Is there an old saying, "Fool me once, shame on you....fool me twice.....have another losing season(s)."

Agree with Blockbuster. When are we going to find out about the new coach.

Yeah I crave attention from the folks on the internet LOL I don't have to have the wonderful internet gossip to meet my cravings, I was just passing along the truth. And Doug Carter was not mediocre he had very good success just had a couple rough years with less than average talent.

Just curious, what was Carter's overall record at Southern??

If my math is correct Coach Carter's overall record during his tenure at Madison Southern is 43-44. With 19 of them wins coming from the 2002 (10 wins) and 2005 (9 wins ) seasons.

That's what I was thinking, but wasn't sure. Thanks Hard Charger. CrumJr, sorry brother, but that is about as mediocre...actually, statistically sub mediocre as it gets.

The two most popular names on this forum have been Brumley and Scenters.

Where's CrumJr for our daily update??? Man, you know this situation, just let the rest of us in on it.

People sure are being tight-lipped for a HS job....

Rumor is that 3 of the applicants at Madison Southern have already contacted Garrard about their position. That could mean they are out already. Don't know which three, but at least three.

Coach Scenters would be my choice.

This guy is a real big time college winner, he has a 3-18 record. Just what Southern needs to turn there program around. A unsuccessful college coach.
