  1. Well tell what is you have "heard" and we will tell you what is true.
  2. They are typically one of the bigger teams around. Are you saying they are going to be bigger than usual?? Heck 3 years ago they averaged in the hood of 300 lbs on the O-line.
  3. This will be Coach Arnett's 2nd season and 1st full off-season. I would expect to see Clay switch from an offense first team relying on the pass to a defensive minded team establishing the run when they have the ball. I would look for them to compete for the 2nd spot in the district in 09.
  4. This hire will show how serious the SL administration is about football.
  5. I have heard the Bell Asst that has applied is Randy Frazier. He was the head coach at Cumberland back in the 90's when they had some wonderful teams. Coach Frazier is a great coach, wonderful leader and great role model for young men. I know the Bell Co. faithful would hate to see him leave b/c he has been a great addition to the staff the past couple of years. :thumb:
  6. A lot of head coaches like starting with a clean slate. I am sure that these assistants you are refering to are great coaches but in most cases it is a hinderance more so than a help to have someone that the players have a previous relationship with when trying to establish a new team idenity.
  7. I hope they get someone hired soon for the players sake. Were is he going?
  8. From what I have heard they will not have many openings for teachers. I think they will try to hire from inside, possibly a current asst.
  9. Keep in mind KC lost one of the most underrated players in the area in Carnes at HB.
  10. You basicly have 1 person away from the LOS the safety and that is it, any playaction and CB's are gone. If the MLB misses the tackle it is by by b/c the safety can't be asked to play in that much space. That to me is very unsound. As said if you have superior talent it really don't matter, in this case if your D-line gets blocked. It is very similar to M'bor's unsound defense. You HC people got to witness that first hand last year.
  11. Very true those two's numbers together were more than the other 13 teams rushing output combined. Including Boyle, Rock, Whitley and so on.
  12. If they are giving him a 100 day contract why not give a 100 day contract to Graham or Reitz for that matter? Both have been very sucessful and have wanted the 100 gig. No disrespect meant to the AD but who is really more important?
  13. They lost most of their skilled postions and defense. They will return a few good lineman. They will always be soild as long as Preston is running the show.
  14. I will add they lost some pretty good OL and DL as well. They will be right their with the rest in the top. With Dawson and Aumiller on defense and Mcshara (sp) on offense they have a nucleus of a good team.
  15. I would think he would be the #1 candidate but he must work on his conditioning. I saw him a few weeks ago at a basketball game and he looked pretty heavy.
  16. Bell will be Bell as simple as that. They will have to find replacements for Goodin at FB, Merrick at PK/punter, and Harbin at DT, those will be the hardest postions with the current roster. Everyone else is very replaceable. The strength for this team will be the OL and the entire defense. The OL is lead by 3 3-year starters with Marcum, Howard, and Collett. They have a number of players ready to compete for the remaining 2 OL spots. The DL will be very quick and strong with 4 year starter Billy Lawson leading the way with, Carton, and Marcum joining. Up to 5 or 6 other players could see time at the other spot. LB'ers will be returning starters Hilton, Lowe, Mills joined by Jr. Josh Brown who started a few games in 08. The secondary returns starters Raines, both of the Davenport brothers and Madon who split time with Zachary.
  17. Dang another big comeback in the 2nd half in the early game.
  18. Any news of the SL job? I think this thread evolved with the lack of pertinent info!!!
  19. :thumb:That is correct. As fans, coaches or whatever it is not our place to 2nd guess why PARENTS hold their children back, it is their decision to do as they please with a child born on to them. Holding back kids is not a new thing. When I was playing HS ball a couple of decades ago I had a bunch of friends at Corbin do it.
  20. That sums up his coaching style in a short paragraph.
  21. Dudley does not get paid as much as one would think. He is getting paid good for 1990 standards.
  22. The Zebras will play a part in this game. Over the back and reaching fouls will determine this game b/c the teams are very close in talent. Go Hounds make the 13th and mountains proud.
  23. Hazard really missed Campbell down the stretch of the season. He was the only other scoring threat besides Whitaker on the team. Dissapointing loss but not an upset IMO.
