I am suspect about a 6-7 Hopkinsville team that lost all their skill players other than their QB on offense and 7-8 starters on defense. Logan returns quite a bit, but will have to show it was more than just catching lightning in a bottle 1 year. Other than Franklin Simpson, I think Madisonville is the most talented team in region 1. But they have to avoid the injuries they sustained last year.

From a talent standpoint, South Warren will be taking a dip after 2018. Hence the reason smith may have an interest. South Warren is just Warren Central 2.0. SW is just a year removed from being beaten twice in the same year by Franklin while having 3 D1 players on their team.

It is about winning. However, when old smash mouth football gets beat by a spread team (especially those with less talent) that is where the grumbling starts. And I agree with All Tell. Elite athletes have no interest in 3 yds and a cloud of dust especially if they have options.

Shortening the season or changing the dates is not going to help attendance of the sweet 16. It's a little deeper than that.

Taylor County hasn't been the same since a superintendent listened to parents in 2001 and fired Brad Todd. Coach Hilton is a good football coach and Taylor County is lucky to have him. They may not win a district title or anything else, but he will and has continued to make the football program better at Taylor.

UK could have been told 10 years ago they were only allowed to recruit in state and would have won just as many games the past 10 years. One could make a strong argument that a lot of the players UK recruits out of state aren't as talented as a lot of kids in state. Don't pee on my shoe and tell me it's raining.

Can't the same be said for every team?
