Franklin-Simpson 28 Hopkinsville 21 OT
Blockbuster replied to Randy Parker's topic in KY Football (High School)
A little surprised by the outcome. I thought the Hoptown defense would do a better job of slowing down the FS running game. Congrats to FS. -
Franklin-Simpson 48 Madisonville-North Hopkins 23
Blockbuster replied to Randy Parker's topic in KY Football (High School)
It doesn't at all. Hoptown's record is a result of their schedule. But there is nothing to indicate that Franklin Simpson is any better than any one else Hoptown has defeated. They have not beaten anyone on Hoptown's level and that isn't saying much. -

Most said 3-8 Warren Central would beat Hoptown. They didn't. Franklin with their up and down play all season will not beat a 10-1 Hoptown at the Stadium of Champions. -

PN, You have made yourself sound ignorant stating that an offensive line isn't important in the game of football. Anyone with knowledge of the games understands it may be the most important part of the game. -
What type of crowd will McCracken bring to BG?

South Warren 38 Warren Central 6
Blockbuster replied to jcarter's topic in KY Football (High School)
Agree with this. But anything other than FBS / FCS you are paying to play. South is loaded with VERY good Kentucky high school players. We will see how it plays out with the scholarship offers with the guys you mentioned. I'm sure if they don't get offers it will be the fault of the coaches. -

South has 1 player that will get a legitimate football scholarship. That is Colton. The rest are very good HS players that will play below the FCS level. Which means they will be paying to play. -

If that is the reason they are playing 99% of them are going to leave disappointed. -

BG is starting to find their swag! They are worried about Grayson Co, not South Warren. -

I'm all about the Purples, but read what you just wrote. A touch of hypocrisy? -

Yea...but, but....Monroe beat Greenwood bad in a scrimmage. -

This is not a real surprise. One dimensional or not, FS has speed and Monroe doesn't. -

Boone Co and the other 3 high schools he's left. His senior year marks his 5th different high school he's attended.

I'd say the silence tells you all you need to know.

Similar enrollment is why they are in the same district. If you look at their Non-district games, you'll find large enrollment advantages against a lot of the teams they chose to schedule. SK has done a good job with their program. But until they lose the Holy Cross' and NewCath's and win regional championships against teams not named T / X, I think they will struggle to find the "respect" they are looking for.
-
Nobody is discounting the enrollment advantage T and X have. In the 6 years since SK went to the state championship game, they've lost to 3 teams not named T / X in the playoffs. You also seem to ignore the enrollment advantage SK has had against a lot of the regular season opponents they've played the past 7-8 years.
-
Depends what you are judging your program by. If by regular season wins and losses, then Simon Kenton has done well (or a good job of scheduling) the past 7-8 years. If judged by trophies in the trophy case, then not so well. One (maybe 2?) regional championship in the history of the school does not garner much respect.

Woodford County Has the Best Offensive Line in the State?
Blockbuster replied to Ram's topic in KY Football (High School)
Central Hardin? I would not assume anything when it comes to Central Hardin. They've won a few games the past couple of years, but they are still Central Hardin.
