Heat Index - Is your school following all the rules?

I know of at least one school in NKY that did not have a normal practice yesterday because the Heat Index was over the limit. I also assume that means many NKY schools did not practice yesterday.

 

Anyone hear of any teams around KY not practicing yesterday because of the heat index?

 

Are the powers that be at every school measuring the Heat Index every day?

They are supposed to measure it every 30 minutes. The ones that have trainers at practice, it is in the trainer's hands, otherwise its the duty of the head coach or AD.

Heat index at some schools never went above 10 minute water breaks every half an hour. Some schools had to adjust for that but that was all I saw

That's a little scary, I would assume a younger male is more fragile than a high school male but I am not a Doctor.

Heat index was 98 when they checked it at his practice. I am sure it was hotter than that on the turf fields though.

It wasn't football but we had extra breaks in our soccer game yesterday due to heat index. As the afternoon/evening and it cooled we finished without extra breaks
