I would say there will be some news by the first of March.

They had better be getting on the ball spring ball is just around the corner.

And when this comes to pass, there will be another school's program left twisiting in the wind without a head coach.

Couple of things to consider with this position...

1. Assuming J-Town interviews and hires a coach who is a head coach somewhere else, yes, it would be another school having to scramble to find them a new coach too.

2. There is a relatively new Prinicpal at the school (I believe he was the former AD and Asst. Principal at Waggener). This is probably something he will want to be apart of...not sure how that will affect the speed of the hiring process

3. no doubt they will want to get someone in as quickly as possible

4. Wonder at this stage of the game, how many current HCs would be interested in leaving their former program to go here?

5. Im willing to bet they receive resumes from a lot of Assistants...maybe look to find someone who is able to show that they want to be at J-Town for a while.

Though stranger things have happened, I am skeptical that they will receive interest from current HCs. Not to say it wont happen. Just be interesting to see what kind of names they get across their desk.

Dont mean to be speculative here, but I do know an asst coach at J-Town and he has applied for it. I also have been told by 5 others that they have applied. This is a good school for an asst. to move into the HC ranks. But you never know.

So the question is: Does J-Town make a swift hire and hire from within the former staff or do they take their time here? Guess it all depends on who applies. The 6 people I know that told me they applied, I honestly think 3 of them would be good hires. I wont divulge names to protect their current positions...only that none of them are current HC.

Also, given the recent recruiting problem surrounding the basketball coach, I would venture to guess J-Town looks REAL close at all the applicants.

This is an interesting job and should make for an interesting hire.

Have heard that the HC from Valley and Western High Schools have or were thinking about applying? That would be a suprise because they have really been successful lately and J-Town has not had a winning season in a long time. Also, if they don't apply then the only coaches with HC experience will be the ones that have not won anywhere, won't win at J-Town, and will be gone in a couple years.

Morrow frowns on his basketballers playing football, to the point where most simply don't play - shame too, they are the school's best athletes.

Deskins from Valley is definetely a no. Talked to an administrator from J-Town last week and they say that most applicants are assistants at this time. Any current head coach will probably be looking at Bullitt East first (mho). J-Town has potential but, will take time and stability.

Sounds about right. Any names on the assistants? J-town just needs somebody to come in stay a while. They have not had a coach stay longer than 4 years since 1994. That is usually the case for most schools that don't win consistently: coaches come and go every couple years.

Any names on the assistants?

All the people that told me they have applied have asked me to keep quiet. They dont want to burn any bridges and would rather their current bosses find out from them then on a forum. Im sure they have probably mentioned it to their HC but its not my place to do it for them. So I will honor their request. Sorry I cant be more of help on this.

:thumb:Great idea. Let the coaches reveal it after the hiring process. So many coaches have been bashed for applying for jobs.

They had an add in Sundays paper for the head Coaching position.

I agree with not saying names. I am wondering if they have a schedule set or interviews? Spring ball is fast approaching and it hurts the team when a head coach is not in place.

I believe you're correct
