Solid Program that is very well coached. Should have a very good team over the next couple of years. I think the soph. class is very strong. I am not sure what kind of speed they have coming up. :thumb:

1. Make a committment to the interviewing committee that he will be around a long time and is committed to the program.

2. Make a committment to the community and get the community as involved as possible. J-TOwn won the basketball state championshsip a couple of years ago and the community rallied behind that (parade, etc).

3. Take advantage of the youth league that J-Town and get involved in knowing those coaches (dont recruit!!) LOL

4. Have an established plan to build. Be realistic that overnight success is guaranteed but a committment to developing the younger players for the future is the key.

 

1. I'm sure the committee thought Carmony would be there for an extended period of time. After all, he is a J-Town grad and former asst. coach, but committed only three seasons. Thus the revolving door swings again.

 

2. Until Morrow shares the talent, the FB program will always be 2nd fiddle to basketball. Of course IF Morrow "played by the rules" maybe J-Town would not be having the success they are now on the hardwood.

 

3. Former HC Buddy Berry torched the bridges from the fertile J-Town youth football league. Don't know if Carmony mended them, but I'd bet if you scanned the rosters of some other football programs, you will find those bridges aren't rebuilt - yet.

 

4. J-Town got a break on the realignment, getting placed with the Oldhams, Anderson and Grant Co. No more Central, Bullitt East and North or Valley/Fairdale to fight for a playoff spot. I'm just guessing, but on the next alignment John Hardin might get bumped to 6-A and if that were to happen, J-Town would likely take it's place along with Doss, Iroquois and Waggener, making J-Town a real threat to win a district title - year in and year out.
