Bobby Branham announced to the team that he has resigned as head coach yesterday afternoon.

My goodness.... how many coaches have came and went at ER since this school formed?

I believe that they have had 4...

Yep, working on # 5 in 7 years of existence.

Why did he resign? That is 2 high schools in 2 years. That doesn't look good on the resume.

I think it was "recommended" by the powers that be. Not sure why.

It is from a pretty good source that someone from East Ridge has contacted the Offensive Cordinator at Franklin County High School. That would be Joey Thacker. East Ridge wants someone who can run the Franklin System. Plus he is from eastern Kentucky and understands what it will take for them to be successful.

 

This would be a good hire. Thacker ran an offense that has put up great numbers.

ER needs stability, somebody who would be willing and be allowed to stay put long enough to build the program. From the outside looking in the administration has been very short sighted in terms of tenure for their football coaches.

 

Thacker would be a great hire if they could get him, and support him, and if he is willing to stay a few years.

Joey is from Elkhorn City and if he could go back home and coach I am sure he would, but East Ridge is no Franklin Co. He is a home town boy just like Ratliff was and he may be able to get a longer stay than the others. I hope for the kids sake at ER that the administration will keep someone long enough to build something there. The community loves football and the rest of their athletic programs but besides girls softball the asumption is it is a revolving door and that can not build success at any school. I wish the warriors the best of luck and for the kids sake hope that the administration will hire someone that will stay around a while.

I think they could get him. His family still ives in the area. His wife family still lives in the area. He has 3 kids that I know he wants them to have more time with their grandparents.

 

The administration would have to really look at spending some money.They could get creative and come up with some ways to make it worth his time. Make sure his wife has a job in the school system.

I hope they get him, and support him and the program the way it needs to be done.

Franklin System won't work without speedy athletes. Hard for me to believe ER has speed to run the system.
