Estill scores late to make it 41-40, then goes for two to win the game.

 

Garrard is fine on offense, but until the Lions begin to tackle consistently, they will struggle to win games. Estill ran for 5+ yards on seemingly every play. The Engineers threw one pass, which was a wounded duck touchdown early in the game.

This score really shocked me win I saw it. I said GC would name the score in the prediction thread. Mainly going by the fact that Rowan Co., a team Garrard beat earlier in the season, beat Estill Co. 63-7 last week. Now this week Estill beats Garrard.

 

That just doesn't make sense...

Estill ended up with 433 yards rushing. It is very odd that Estill squeaked by a team that beat Rowan two weeks ago, when only 7 days ago Estill took a beating to Rowan County. Garrard's defense needs some work, I believe they just matched up better with Garrard than they did against the Estill attack. Garrard is a team that can compete with most of the teams in 3A, as long as the defense does its job.

I was truly surprised at the outcome of this game . Great job by Estill Co. of bouncing back after last week. Garrard did move the ball against Rowan as well if I remember correctly Rowan had 6 or 7 turnovers in the Garrard Co. game. Hope Garrard Co. can get things tightened up on defense and Estill Co. keeps up the good work. Good luck to all the rest of the way.

I don't believe they are, when the defense is clicking they can be a top 10 team in 3A, but when the defense goes South, most of the teams in 3A can play with them.

Not necessarily relevant to the game, but I really liked Estill County's helmets. The blue with black "E" looked really sharp. I hadn't seem them play in several seasons; the last Estill game I saw they were wearing helmets that were just like Air Force.

That was one heck of a team Garrard had them, good ol' Mr. Quissenberry, and another stud back.

Great win for Estill County. We'll be looking forward to making the return trip to Irvine on Friday.

How about the onside kick from Estill when they took the lead with 1:22 to go. Doesn't say much for the defense, but it worked and estill won. Gutsy call from the Coach to say the least...

It seems like Estill Co. had one really good RB back from last season. I believe he was number 10 last year.
