Estill County 42 Garrard County 41

Featured Replies

It seems like Estill Co. had one really good RB back from last season. I believe he was number 10 last year.

They had 3 good RB's last season, some would say #10 was 3rd on that last, but regardless, he was #10 and he's a junior this year, the other two graduated.

That was one heck of a team Garrard had them, good ol' Mr. Quissenberry, and another stud back.

Neers, I think you might be thinking of the 2001 team that had Montice Quisenberry at quarterback/running back. That Garrard team beat Estill 50-20 and finished the season 7-4. The next year (2002 - last game between the two schools) the Lions did handle Estill fairly easily, but struggled down the stretch to finish 4-6 and miss the playoffs.

But I understand and agree with your point!:thumb:

How about the onside kick from Estill when they took the lead with 1:22 to go. Doesn't say much for the defense, but it worked and estill won. Gutsy call from the Coach to say the least...

I sort of saw that as Estill County's coach thinking he couldn't really stop Garrard. If the Lions recover the onsides kick at midfield, perhaps they score quickly and Estill could get the ball back one more time. And if Garrard doesn't recover (which they didn't), then the game is basically over.

#10 was a very nice player. I noticed that he did a very good job of following his blockers, which usually led to solid yards. The quarterback seemed shaky with his tosses/pitches/handoffs all night, but Estill never fumbled once. So he wasn't as shaky as I thought.
