Powell Co has decided to drop Harlan Co from the 2008 schedule and forfiet the chance to compete in the district.

I am sure he will make up something. It is a shame though that your team can't compete for a playoff game. I believe I would just go ahead and play the game for pride sake.

Jacob will also be an assistant volunterring. Dondi will not be coaching.

Don't know about the numbers, but heard Harlan Co would be 5A with Letcher Central, Perry Central, Clay Co, N. Laurel and Whitley Co This would make more sense if the numbers are correct and there will be 6 classes. Travel time to these schools would not be too bad. When will KHSAA let the schools know so they can begin scheduling for 09?

Harlan Co is scheduled to be 5A if you have a 6A. They should be in 4A if you only have 5 classes. Trip to Scott Co is 3 1/2 hours, to GRC is 3 hrs 15 min., to Mad Central is 3 hours. Believe you better do some geography work. Harlan enrollment will not be more than the Laurel Co schools. Better do some enrollment work too. Glad you don't decide things about this classification, you would have it all screwed up.

David Mitchell does not turn down good competion. How do you think they will compete against the new Harlan Co. team?

It will be a great coaching staff when it has been decided. Coach Saylor couldn't leave Rock but would in a minute if he could. The two sons would love to and one of them may join him if things work out.

Perkins only played in the first two games. If he comes back that will be a plus, but the other 10 games were played without him. The last 3 games were played without McHone. He should be OK and return. Lost were 4 starters on offense and 5 on defense w/o those two.

HC is scheduled to play Knox Central in the grid

Hazard has decided to not play. They accepted an invitation in a bowl game at Lex Catholic.

There arej lots of numbers there if you want to take back the quitters and kids that didn't want to put out the effort.

Coach Larkey and Coach Saylor will be remembered for a long time in Rockcastle Co. I am sure Les Scalf will never regret drawing the picture. That picture hangs in a lot of places. If you think it is weird to look at it then turn your head. Do you think the two could be together for eternity?

Why would Mike Settles leave Pikeville, go to Ballard and then go to Lincoln CO. That would make no sense.

It was 8 out of the last 11 but Bell County caught up some this year.

It would be hard to find a guy who has done more for the kids around the state than Coach Graham. He is a class act who always teaches and coaches the Christian way. Why have so many people this year been dogging coaches for their comments after games this year, when I'm sure these comments were made in context to some sort of question that the viewer did not hear.

Rock started off the season with about 52 players and lost 8 freshman during the year. Besides that they have about 10 players on the sideline with injuries. One of their best players was hurt in the 2nd game and out for the season. Another starter was hurt before the 1st game and out for the season. During the season they have had about 3 other player to miss games and the last 3 games was without their starting fb and de. Having 5 seniors and all the injuries they have put together a pretty good team to make it this far and go 6-6 with a tough schdule. Proud of the Rock on your season. Bell was the better team this year. Rock has been the best team in years past. That is just the way it is. Good rivalry from year to year. Best of luck to Bell in the final stages.

KHSAA has really messed up the playoffs. We are having too many 2nd rounds in the playoffs. This makes no sense at all. The 1st rounds are 2nd rounds and the 2nd week are all 2nd rounds. I can't see playing everybody twice unless you are the dominate team and that seems to be the case this year. I think we need to go back to the old playoff system and play another district for the playoffs. I know travel time was the reason but that is a poor excuse in many cases.

Should be a high scoring game. SL and PC have high potent offenses. SL has a tough time stopping the run which PC is good at and should prevail.

The wishbone is their best bet. Play good defense and play simple football. The offense with the gun is not the best for this team. Looks fancy but not their style.

What was Berea's record this year? Who did they beat?

I agree. Plus a few teams made it that didn't win a game. That is a terrible set up the the KHSAA.
