The more middle school teams you have the better off you are. One middle school team will be destruction. I know for a fact. Numbers will drop and by the time they play HS the numbers will get worse. Sounds like the more the merrier.

Southwestern/Harlan County Predictions

HC has 6 different starters on offense this game compared to the first game. Jamie Ball, one of the best OL in SE KY didn't play in the first game for HC. This should even things up a little. SW still has the better athletes and should win the game, however, it should not be a blow out. -

What kind of entertainment is in BG compared to Louisville? Are there any places to spend the night and eat. -
Southwestern/Harlan County Predictions

Spread offense has 2 freshman and 2 sophomores wide and a sophomore RB. Heck of a JV team at least. Marcus may just be that secret weapon this weak catching the ball. Seems like every week somebody shines. -
Transportation is not a problem. If they want to play, they will have a ride.

I think it will be a much closer game than than week 1. I am sure both teams have improved over the season. It will depend a lot on who has the healthy players to compete in this one. -
I agree. HC has 3 good MS programs and keeping these kids out is the problem. It seems with the 8th grade group that most are excited about playing for the Black Bears.

It was a tie after 4 games and a 5th game had to be picked. Whitley Co edged HC out by 1 point. If it had been a tie again a 6th win would have been used and HC would have been 2nd. HC had one point from the Lee High game and Whitley was out of wins. If Lynn Camp had not beat Berea last week, it would have been a tie after picking 5 wins. -
I felt all year that Clay Co had a good team. They have two good RB's and a good QB with strong line and a physical defense. It is unfortunate that a team this good is not in the playoffs. They could probably beat a lot of other teams in other districts that made the playoffs, of course, this is not the way it works. Congratulations on the win and you have a lot of players returning to build a good team in 2010.

Is Middlesboro going through a few classes without any athletes or what is going on? What does the future hold for the teams there? Any outstanding middle school players coming up?

Congratulations to NL on a great season. You won several games early that you were not supposed to win and had a couple of real close ones. It is a shame that a team that has done so well did not make the playoffs, but it was a very tough district and should be tough next year. Coach Larkey and staff has done a tremendous job and has great backing from the administration and fans. -
I believe the great competition before the 1st round playoff game was good for HC. Southwestern had the night off and was probably at the game. I would imagine that Southwestern thinks they have the 1st game wrapped up next week after seeing HC get beat so bad by BC. Maybe that is a good thing, especially after the beating SW handed HC in the opening game. Bell Co is a very good team, well coached, and has great athletes. HC didn't have to schedule them and could have got someone weaker, but this game between the two will make HC work harder in the future and someday, will win.

I was wondering the same thing. Maybe this is why there can't be a special post for asking questions to the officials.

Did Robinson, #24 play? He is the best LB in the district.

Try to keep it close HC. Seems that Bell has this one wrapped up. Has Bell practiced this week? It has been a little nasty. -

Does anyone know the record between these schools? I think SW has only won a couple of times out of about 14.
