dragon_slayer Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 Harlan Co rallies for 15 points in the last 4 minutes to pull out the victory.
BUBBA BEAR Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 WOW is all you can say. Our Bears just keep diggin deep and winning. Great District win. :dancingpa Now let's get ready for Clay County. GO BEARS!!!!:ylsuper:
Mama Bear Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 Every week these games get better and better and the Black Bears dig down and find a way to win! We actually had some fans leave when PCC went up by 14 with a little over 4 minutes left in the 4th quarter. When are they going to learn that this bunch will NOT give up?!!!!!!!!!!!!:ylsuper: PCC is a good football team and their QB, Amis, is tough.
bridges Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 The Bears are in position to clinch a tie for first in the district with a win at Clay. Does anyone have details on how the seeding would be determined if Harlan Co, Letcher Co, and Whitley Co ended in a 3 way tie?
HDE Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 When I glanced over it last week it appeared Letcher had the edge in a three-way tie, which means Whitley would be second. Harlan County could probably move to the top by upsetting Bell, which would be worth eight or nine points.
Uncle Rico Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 Wow!!! The Bears beat the Perry Central Amisdores! Going for 2 to WIN! That is the Genius I call Larkey! 80% Knowledge 20% Testicular Fortitude Sounds like Perry's Coach was full of excuses in the newspaper today! Go Bears!!!

Of course the ideal situation for the bears would be a Whitley loss, resulting in a 2 way tie with Letcher with the bears getting the 1 seed by the head to head victory over the cougars. First things first, a win at Clay is essential.
3wishes Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 The Bears will have a really tough game with Clay County next week, it will be their senior night and they always play a lot better at home. These teams in this district never really get an off week, I know the Bears can win but this game is almost a trap game if the kids think Clay County isn't any better than their 0-4 district record. I think the Bears may have turned the corner, with these wins and I it still amazes me that people thought they wouldn't win another game after the Powell Valley win. Congrats again Blackbears!

Does anyone have details on how the seeding would be determined if Harlan Co, Letcher Co, and Whitley Co ended in a 3 way tie? If it is a 3 way tie, then HC would be #3 I believe. The two Virginia schools they beat have two more regular season games left after the seeding is complete in Kentucky because their season extends longer, thus leaving a potential 4 points off the table. If HC beat Bell County that would give them roughly 12-14 points and would more than likely finish 1st.
Uncle Rico Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 I had some questions coming into district play, but I was confident that we could compete. This team really bounced back after a bad showing in Whitley. They have found themselves! I know what you mean by the clay county game being 0-4 the coach will sell this a their Championship! They definitely want to get rid of that goose egg and I'm sure they would love to keep the Black Bears from a district title. Very Very Dangerous! But I know one thing Ol' "Balls to the Wall" Larkey will have our Black Bears focused playing for a District Title.
