Good luck to both teams the rest of the season...both teams have a chance to play very deep into the playoffs.

One week after tying Marty Reagan for the single game rushing record, Rockcastle County's Dusty Miller unofficially breaks the record by nearly 20 yards.

 

Once 3wishes can get online he can give more stats but I heard on the radio station that Miller had 32 carries for 296 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns.

 

And if my math serves me correct...I hope it does cause I'm a Math major...Rockcastle County had nearly 50 carries for about 434 yards rushing against the Bell County defense.

 

Once I can get the information on Dusty, I'll be nominating him for the KNN Player of the Week.

Congratulations to the ROCK. A good game between both teams. I can't wait to see the stat's for both teams. Also good job on a play by Zach Burkhart. I hope the ROCK don't play anymore games that close don't know how much more my heart can take of that!!!!!

One thing to add about Zach Burhkart is that he is just now getting back into playing condition from having to sit out a few games due to contracting Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. It had him in the hospital for a week if not more than that. They even had to fly a specialist in to treat him. Sounds like the doctor really knew what he was doing getting him back so soon.

 

But I shouldn't be surprised with him coming back in the way he did. All of those Burkhart kids are one huge football playing family and they eat, sleep, breathe and drink football.

Well I had to work the NKU Volleyball match that went 5 sets and took right at 2 hours to complete so that knocked me out of listening to the game until late in the third quarter.

 

I will hopefully be going home for the weekend next weekend as NKU will be on Fall Break...I'm hoping to get down there in enough time to go to the Rock/Madison Southern game.

 

 

 

 

 

Now on a side note about the game...look for Bell County to be making the trip back to Rockcastle County for the 2nd round of the playoffs...as it stands now, the Bell County game versus Clay County at Log Mountain the last week of the regular season will most likely determine who will be hosting the Bell/Clay game the following week.

300 rushing yards by one man vs Bell is VERY impressive!

Good job Rockets.. Sounds like this was a great game..

Rockets have 2 good running backs in Miller and Mize and a awesome offensive line but if they don't quit getting penalties inside the other teams

10 yard line sooner or later its going to catch up to them. Also, as easily as they moved the ball on Bell it hurts badly if you have to start your drives on the 20 and the other team gets to start out near mid-field.

I feel that Rockcastle may have the best team in the region I just don't know if you can beat both Bell and Johnson Central with a kicking game this poor. I guess we will find out in November, which usually brings cold and wet weather which will favor greatly the make-up of the Rockets football team.
