Rockcastle County 18 Bell County 14

If you look back at my post that is what I said too. The officiating WAS good. What I was pointing out was either the officials did not know or did not see that the line's strategy was to "pin" many of the Bobcat lineman and not allow them to get up. Several said they fought this all night, and the films show it. This is an unusual strategy, and really not necessary when you outweigh the line as much as Rock did. It just was either not noticed or called. Did it make a difference in game? Who knows. We will see next time when it is pointed out and coaches draw it to officials attention. Early in season Bell had several kickoffs allowed to be returned from the endzone by officials who were doing good, but some were unclear of rule and allowed it at first until they were told. Some of these things don't show up in Mountain football as often and maybe they were not aware. Did not mean to criticize the overall officiating and draw the reaction from 3 Wishes. I think "bellflops" fall somewhere in there as well! LOL!

When the DL chops the OL and falls down in front of them there is not much the OL can do but fall on top of them. This is not called holding someone down. If Bell Dl stood up and played them, they would have been driven backwards.

Bell was 0-10 in '82, the year before Dudley.

Yes that was the last losing season for Bell County. I think Bell was outscored that year like 400 to 35 or something a long those lines.

As for the penalty talks, Ive not seen the film on the game so its really hard to comment much about it.

Id like to say that on Bell's next to last drive of the game that the deep ball thrown to Zachery, there was pass interference, with the DB holding his right arm down, like some have said, but I didnt see it. Also some said it was just good defense. All and all the refs seem to do fine or there would be a whole lot more fussing about it than there is.

The D-line "cutting" the O-line is perfectly legal at the line of scrimmage. The O-lineman can then lay on the D-lineman without penalty.

A lot of teams with smaller lineman do this to try and create a pile, and eliminate running lanes, against a team with bigger lineman. I have seen this technique used a lot when teams play Rock, Bell, and Whitley (when they were a running team). I remember seeing film where Rock's D-line has done this as well.
