  1. So they led one time in the HC game. Trailed the rest of the game. Never led in the Madison Central game. I'm not here to bash Creek, i'm just saying you are what your record says you are. Creek is 3-5, exactly the same as they were in 2011 after 8 games.
  2. It isn't verbalized because it isn't true. This is 2 very good teams and it isn't a given in any way for the Purples. Warren Central returns many starters from last years team, and if not for BG shocking St X, would be ranked ahead of them. Again, it is well documented what a senior dominated team BG was last year and returned only 4 starters (3 offense/1 Defense) in 2012. The Dragons have more experience, homefield advantage, all senior offensive line, 3 year starting QB, and a ton of motivation. I'll also disagree with BBJ. These 2 have very contrasting styles in what they try to get done on both sides of the ball. The kicking game could play a huge factor in this game. I'll be a homer and take the Purples 24-20, but this is a game that can go either way.
  3. The other side of that is i'm sure Corbin and West Jessamine feel they let opportunities against Creek slip through their hands and Creek could possibly be sitting at 1-7. The victories you talk of slipping through Creek's hands are those where they NEVER led at any point in the entire game.
  4. Why is Franklin Co so bad on defense? Any team that can score with the athletes they have should be able to play better defense. What gives?
  5. Did you ever think that East may have had something to do with that performance?
  6. True, but they also haven't played a schedule of 1a, 2a, & bad 4a teams. They have played all 5a and 6a teams. Who on Warren Centrals schedule would JH have lost to? DF, Henry Clay and Ballard are a wash. Ballard is as mediocre as they come and I would take Boyle over Class A Mayfield. Boyle was ahead of both Highlands and Lexcath at the half. You like to emphasize competitive halftime scores, so there you go. I think both of those schools beat Mayfield in the second half just like WC did. Now both of you stop with this JH schedule nonsense. I feel dirty and need a shower defending them.
  7. aahhhh... The old 'fits the schedule' routine.
  8. A strong argument can be made that Boyle and Henry Clay are as strong as anyone Warren Central has played...and they beat Meade on the road worse than the Dragons did. I don't know if I'd throw stones at their schedule or not. JH 40 Jtown 14
  9. We will find out the 'gap', if there is one, in 2 weeks. I don't know if there is or not, but DF you didn't think there was a gap last year even after the first game. You only became convinced after the second game. BG beats St X and then X gets hammered by Trinity and people convince themselves X isn't any good, therefore BG isn't that good. WC is better this year as they return most of their team from last year. It is well noted BG only returned 4 starters. I do like the 2 week build up for this game. Should be a good one.
  10. My guess is there will be a little more scoring in the varsity game in couple of weeks.
  11. BG is nowhere near the level of Highlands, especially in terms of state championships. But BG has been playing St X or Trinity (The top 2 programs in the state) 8 years in a row. No other school in the state other than a district opponent has done that. Highlands hasn't played X or T in 6 years. They choose not to play them.
  12. Who has Ballard beaten to warrant being in the top 10? Henderson has a road victory over 5A #6 Christian Co. If Ballard has a good outing against Warren Central this Friday you may have an argument. But i'm not holding my breath.
  13. Which makes Lafayette's loss to Owensboro the most head scratching loss for a team in 2012.
  14. Jefferson Co. schools rarely travel outside the county borders and when they do it usually doesn't end well. The Dragons are pretty good and Ballard isn't. Warren Central 35-14
  15. Central squeaked by Ballard 19-14. Ballard is the best team the Jackets have played thus far. If X were playing Ballard this week after Central had beaten Ballard, X would be a prohibitive favorite. Central gets a little more respect because they win 3A championships. They won't be able to lineup, toss the ball, and just outrun X. I will accept and east a crow sandwich if X doesn't score 35 and win by 3 TD's.
  16. They haven't slipped to Madisonville's level. OHS 28 Madville 13
  17. The St X offense scored 16 pts in the first half against BG. The other 7 was a botched punt snap that X picked up and ran in. But your point is well taken. X is the best offense the Purples will see all year and the Tigers will score a lot against Central. X 35 Central 14
  18. BG is breaking in 18 new starters this year. X had more returning starters this year than BG. They will still be ahead of X at the end of the year.
