  1. Trinity can and should have turf. My posts are directed more at school districts that got turf with the assumption it would last 15-20 years and save them money over the long run. Any school or district that can afford turf and replace it every 8-10 years should absolutely have it. It provides for a perfect surface with unlimited usage 365 days a year.
  2. That is very true if you have all the activities you can think of on the surface. In that aspect the turf is worth it. But if all a school does is play their football schedule (V, JV, F), it probably isn't worth it from a financial standpoint.
  3. Yes you have to maintain natural grass. But if you spent $20,000 a year for 20 years on the maintenance that would only be $400k. Turf is very nice and a luxury. It is not cost effective.
  4. Field turf was initially sold as being cost effective. It is anything but cost effective. I agree that those schools that "invested" in field turf will drop the ball when it is time invest another $250-300,000 into replacing it every 8-10 years.
  5. Scott Co should have beat Trinity as well?
  6. It's not JH's fault who's in their district/region, but it is a fact those teams are nowhere near the level of BG, WC, and CC. JH may have made it through Christian and WC, but would they have had enough left in the tank to beat BG? Imagine having to play the same emotional and physical game for 3 consecutive weeks that John Hardin played against BG. That's what BG just did. Christian Co. had to do it in 2010 and had absolutely nothing left in the tank for an outstanding Highlands team.
  7. JH had the perfect storm for the BG game. BG played extremely tough games against talented teams in Christian and WC. JH is playing a beer league softball game against N Bullitt, Grayson, and Jtown. Do you think JH would have come out winning 3 straight against Christian, Warren Central, and BG? Those would be 3 tough grinds for the Bulldogs. They essentially had to get "up" for 1 game in the playoffs on their homefield. I think WC was better although the actual score doesn't indicate that. That same Cov Cath team lost to Conner and that was definetly not one of the better JC teams.
  8. If we are throwing Cov Cath in the mix, then I must throw Warren Central in as well. I'm of the belief that the Dragons are better than John Hardin.
  9. If Cooper has the skill positions and OL/DL like JH then they should be considered the favorite. BG has run a gauntlet of teams starting with Christian, then Warren Central, then the best of the bunch in JH. All were physical dogfights and the Purples may not have much left in the tank. That is what concerns this BG fan about this game.
  10. Was it not real last year? BG is good this year and has a chance to be 15-0 again. They will return 18 starters for 2013....maybe the hype will be real in 2013.
  11. I think BG is the best in 5A. It is not by a huge margin at all IMO. They have had to defeat some really strong, physical, senior laden teams in the playoffs. Cooper will fit in that same category. I'll take BG in a close one throughout the game, but ends up 28-14. With 18 starters returning in '13, the gap that LCDawgs talks about may be real next year.
  12. Robinson is still lighting it up at Troy.
  13. Between Warren Central sandbagging last week and the John Hardin posters sandbagging all year I feel like I'm in a sand storm. BG has played just well enough to win the past 2 weeks against 2 good football teams in Christian and Warren Central. Both of those games were at home. The Purples go on the road to John Hardin for this one and kicking game mistakes could cost them the game if they continue to make them. Hopefully they iron those things out and find a way to win. Bowling Green 35 John Hardin 21
  14. Collins is very talented but young. East is very talented but led by 20+ seniors. Collins has home field advantage, but I think East will be too much for them. Warren East 34 Collins 21
  15. What do you want to say? You've said it all with your cynical posts. Goodluck to the Dragons.
  16. East was better than Monroe then...and they are better than Monroe now. That is not to take anything away from Monroe who is very good in their own right.
  17. I think East wins this game comfortably over Owensboro 38-14. People will slowly begin to realize what a few of us have been trying to say about East all season.
  18. Warren Central hammers Graves. The Dragons are a bitter crosstown rival, but they get much respect on our side of town as one of the top programs in the state in any class. Warren Central 58-20
  19. My guess is Lone Oak gets introduced to a steady dose of Eli Brown. East 38-14
  20. I'm surprised Lafayette lost to this Male team.
  21. Bryan Station and Lafayette are not known as defensive stalwarts and they held 'creek' to under 150 yds passing in both games and 7 and 14 pts respectively. 'Creek' will be lucky to score IMO.
  22. If TC scores more than once i'll be surprised. St X 42-7.
