Bowling Green...Tell us what to expect out of them

Featured Replies

I know BG has been ranked continuously through the season as #2 or #3 behind Trinity as top team in the state.

I haven't seen them play this year...yet. But for anyone who has seen them in person can you fill me in what to expect? What type of offense do they run? Defense? Their strengths etc.

Thanks

Nacarius Fant is a joy to watch.

Reading up on him he sounds like a stud receiver. I wondered why he is never mentioned along with the other states top receivers or am I just not going to the correct sites on the web? He sounds like a beast with over 1200 yards receiving already. Plus he wears the same number as my favorite Cooper player :thumb:

Speed that Cooper hasn't seen all year. Be prepared to watch a lot of kids that can flat out get it done in space.

Lots of speed and a great D. There will be a time in the game where you get that feeling "ok, here is our chance" and then they will make the play that takes away all of your momentum. Haven't seen a program that makes THE play more than BG. Ex: WC on the BG 5 about to score before halftime, pick in the endzone. BG 4th and 9 down 7 to JH with 1:30 left, and about 70 yards to go; boom hook and ladder. They make the plays, and the ONLY way you stop them is to get out big and stay on them the entire game, only problem is that no one has been able to do this in two years.

You only have to be better than them for 2 hours on Saturday afternoon!

WC and JH had success running the ball against them the past two weeks. I think Lex Cath had some success throwing when the two played at the end of the regular season.

Yes, I think this is the perfect storm for a BG letdown and that will give Cooper a chance.

Hellbird: (takes a sigh of relief....for the moment)

Him and Blue Tisdale. Fant is the speed on the outside and Tisdale runs the ball well and catches the over the middle and underneath routes.

Most of this BG team has been together since MS and as noted they can execute when needed.

I think Cooper's D-line will not be overmatched.

John Hardin held them to 6 points for 46 minutes and 30 seconds. Bg had very little offense outside of 2 big plays. This might give you a little hope.

Therein laid the problem for JH...the 2 big plays.

He asked for hope. I gave it to him. They average 40+ a game. Holding them to 14 might give em some hope. One of those tds came on a trick play.
