Should Jonathan Jackson win Mr. Kentucky Football

No player in the state had more impact for their team than did Jackson this year.

The 1A player of the year is a defensive specialist but also managed to average around 300 yards a night rushing the ball for Mayfield's balanced offense in the playoffs. Set records for most rushing yards in school history, most touchdowns and most tackles.

After gaining alot of state attention for his showing in the state championship game and the Scott County kid winning 6A player of the year. One has to begin to think that Jackson has (and should have) a pretty good chance

Quick is definately the player in Ky with the most potential at the next level and is the highest rated HS player in the state.. If that's what the award is about, then he should win it, hands down..However, Trinity would have been great with or without him.. Scott Co & St X are arguably the 2nd and 3rd best teams in 6a and Trinity beat them without Quick, so, they were still the best team in the largest class in Ky.. Jacksons actual numbers dwarf that of Quick, as well as Timmons numbers.. Those 2 guys were probably more valuable to there teams than Quick was, plus they played both ways.. So, I guess the question is, is Mr Football in Ky an award for the most talented player in the state or the one who was the most valuable to there team..

Jackson is a two-way player, which makes him much more valuable than a guy that plays on just one side of the ball. If we're rewarding the best prospect, then I am sure Quick is the guy. If we're rewarding the guy that accomplished the most on the high school level, Jackson has to be a serious contender for the award.

It goes to the best player. Quick is a better player than Jackson.

Look at some of the past winners, the award doesn't always go to the "so called best prospect".

I actually argued this point the year Atwell won and I said Shane Boyd should win because I thought he was the "best prospect". However , Atwell had incredible numbers and won.

Is Quick a better player or just the best wide receiver in the state? Put Quick on Mayfield's team and take away Jackson and I bet you don't see a state champion or a team that could compete with 95% of all teams in the state.
