The Mustangs enter at 3-3, having faded from the forefront with a midseason three game losing streak, but they're still plenty dangerous. Will North Oldham catapult themselves into the district race at Spencer County's expense, or do the Bears keep it rolling to 7-0?

Spencer County played in one of the best games in 4A last week, coming from behind and wearing down Collins in a 42-35 victory. Since the shocking opening loss to Bardstown, the Bears have topped 28 points in every game of their five game winning streak. This week they host winless North Oldham, which is still reeling after their state semifinal finish in 2014. The Mustangs have lost 10 in a row overall and are just 3-13 in the past two seasons. Last season Spencer County eked out a 13-0 result. Will the Bears extend their win streak or can the Mustangs get on the board for 2016?

Winless North Oldham got close to a top 10 upset last week but fell short in a 21-13 decision to Spencer County. This week they'll get the other titan in District 4 when they visit Shelby County, freshly returned to the top 10. Shelby County has been an up and down team, with the good (48-23 win over North Bullitt - their only loss), the less good (41-31 loss to Garrard County), and the ugly (56-31 loss to Bullitt East). They had a bye week to focus on this game after smashing Franklin County, and enter a crucial stretch that will determine where they fall in the pecking order. Last year they were coming off their only regular season loss, and had a hard fought 24-7 victory over the Mustangs in this game. Will it be that close this time? Can North Oldham possibly pull the upset to snap an 11 game losing streak?

No team in the state suffered a more brutal end to their season last year than did North Oldham, falling on a Hail Mary to Owensboro in the state semifinals. The Mustangs were literally seconds away from the state finals, but look to wipe away that memory this year.
