  1. 1. 6A Male (8-0) The Bulldogs traveled to Lexington last week looking to continue their winning ways, and did just that. Male defeated 6A Bryan Station 57-28. At first glance, it would seem as if Station had some success against the stingy Male defense, but the score was 57-8 at the break, and the majority of Station's points were scored on reserves. Male will host 6A Saint Xavier this week to determine the winner of the district. 2. 2A Christian Academy - Louisville (7-0) They had to wait seven weeks, but CAL finally got the signature win they'd likely had circled since August, defeating their 2A rival DeSales 21-10 last Friday. Brandt Babin led the charge for the Centurions, rushing for 126 yards on 21 attempts and two scores. CAL will face 2A Shawnee this Friday. 3. 2A DeSales (6-1) After squeaking out a win against 6A North Hardin the previous week, the Colts finally dropped their first game of the 2018 campaign, falling to their rival CAL 21-10 in front of a home crowd last Friday. While it means DeSales won't win the district, it is likely the two will meet again in the playoffs where they the Colts will look for revenge. This week, they take on 2A Washington County. 4. 6A Saint Xavier (5-2) For the second straight week the Tiger defense had an impressive outing, and they have now won five in a row after defeating 6A Manual 25-7. Unfortunately for X, however, they may have once again lost their starting QB Keegan Sullivan to injury. The offense was sub-par at times earlier in the season when he was out, so this will be a concern moving forward. Next up, they travel over to Preston Highway where they will take on 6A top dog Male. 5. 6A Butler (6-2) QB Chaz Burks had a nearly perfect game, throwing 11/14 for 208 yards and 4 TD's as the Bears dominated 6A Pleasure Ridge Park 59-6. Eric Jackson, Jalan Ward, and Malik Brooks all added a rushing touchdown each as Butler had their way with the Panther defense. Butler takes on 6A Eastern this week. 6. 5A South Oldham (6-1) South kept rolling this week, making it six in a row on the year after handling 5A Bullitt East 49-7. The impressive part about this win? The Dragons attempted only five passes, completing just one of those. As a team, South rushed for 486 yards and all seven of their scores. They'll make the trip to Bullitt County for the second straight week as they take on 5A Bullitt Central this week. 7. 5A Oldham County (6-1) The Colonels earned a hard fought road win last week, defeating 5A district foe Bullitt Central 38-33. Parker Caudill, Lucas Jones, Juan Tapia, and Jackson Deckard all scored for OC. This week, they'll face 5A Nelson County. 8. 6A Trinity (2-6) The Rocks bounced back from a loss to their long-time rival in dominating fashion, disposing of 6A Eastern 45-0 last Thursday. We can probably expect a similar result this week, as Trinity will visit 6A Seneca on Friday. 9. 4A Moore (7-1) For the first time in three weeks, the Moore defense gave up points, but it was merely a formality, as the Mustangs dominated 4A Western 42-14 last week. The defense was a big part in this victory, as both Dewayne Cameron and Jamari Wilson had fumble recoveries that they returned for touchdowns. Moore is off this week. 10. 6A North Hardin (5-3) Coming off back to back losses, the Trojans rebounded last week defeating 6A Meade County 24-7. Lavell Wright rushed for 133 yards on 23 attempts and 2 TD's to lead the way for NH. The Trojans are off this week. Trends Up: CAL - We already knew CAL was one of the top teams in 2A, but this week they officially proved it by knocking off DeSales. Down: No one. Game of the Week: 6A Saint Xavier vs. 6A Male Once again, the GOTW in the City of Louisville will likely be the biggest game in the entire state, as Male and Saint X face off this Friday. The winner will not only win the district, but more importantly get to play at home throughout the playoffs. Both teams are known for their defense, so we could be looking at a low-scoring affair. With X likely being down their starting QB, that will make their task even tougher against the relentless Bulldog defense. Last Week's GOTW: 2A Christian Academy - Louisville 21, 2A DeSales 10 In a game that many had looked forward to all year, CAL took control of the district and bragging rights (for now, at least) handing DeSales their first loss of the year. While this game may change the conversation in 2A temporarily, these two teams will almost certainly meet again in the playoffs, when it really counts. Player of the Week: RB JT Benson, South Oldham 7 rushes 220 yards 3 TD
  2. BluegrassPreps.com is giving you a chance to show off your football knowledge statewide! The BluegrassPreps Regional Contests give you chances to pick games in different parts of the state for prizes each week of the regular season. There will be five regional contests every week. You will have a chance to pick the winners in each region -- NKY, EKY, Lexington/Central KY, Louisville, and WKY. Each region will have five games to pick from each week. We pick the games, and you will pick the winner of each game, assigning your picks a point value of 7-5-3-2-1. The first tiebreaker is picking the team (of the ten teams in the contest) that scores the most points. You don't have to pick the highest scoring team, you just have to pick a team that scores more points than the team(s) picked by the member(s) you are tied with. The second tiebreaker is time. This is a season long contest and you can enter in any or all regions that you wish. At the end of the regular season, the top two finishers in each region will compete during the playoffs for statewide bragging rights on Bluegrasspreps. If a contestant qualifies in more than one region, then the highest point total statewide from a non-qualifying contestant will advance as a Wild Card. The best part is, if you win a weekly contest, you will receive a quality prize. The deadline for all entries is 5:00pm EST Friday. (October 12th, 2018) Be sure to post your winners and assign each of them one of the following point values (7-5-3-2-1) based on how strongly you feel that that team will win. (Please note that if your selections are NOT in the specified format, your ENTIRE set of picks will be voided.) 7 5 3 2 1 1st Tiebreaker 2nd Tiebreaker: Time of post. The games this week for the Louisville Area Regional contest are: St. Xavier vs Male Eminence vs Owen County Meade County vs Central Hardin Collins vs North Oldham Elizabethtown vs Larue County Be sure to pick ONE winner for each game and to indicate the point value. Remember, all entries must be posted by 5:00pm EST on Friday, October 12th. Good Luck!
  3. 1. 6A Male (6-0) After two red zone turnovers in the first half and a handful of other miscues, the Bulldogs overcame a slow start last Friday and pulled away late to beat 6A Butler 30-12 to remain unbeaten on the year. WR Izayah Cummings was the star of the show for Male, pulling down eight catches for 165 yards and a touchdown to lead the offensive attack. Male will travel to 6A Pleasure Ridge Park this week. 2. 2A DeSales (5-0) The Colts handled their fourth higher classed team of the season, defeating 3A power Lexington Catholic 38-24 last week. QB Aaron Pfaadt was 8/11 for 150 yards and two scores, while RB Antione Johnson rushed for 149 yards on 24 attempts and another score. DeSales finishes up their non-district schedule this week as they take on 6A North Hardin. 3. 2A Christian Academy - Louisville (5-0) CAL had the week off this past week as they prepare for the second half of their season. This week, the Centrions host 6A Meade County. 4. 6A Butler (4-2) Having been dominant in four of their five previous games, the Bears came into last Friday's match up with 6A Male with an upset in mind. Unfortunately for them, the Bulldogs flexed their muscles late, and handed Butler a 30-12 loss in front of a huge come crowd. RB Eric Jackson and WR Demontae Crumes both had very long scoring plays in the 3rd Quarter to make it interesting, getting as close as 16-12, but the Bears would not score again. They travel to 6A Manual this Friday. 5. 6A Saint Xavier (3-2) The Tigers seem to have found their footing after a slow start, winning their third in a row last week beating 6A Pleasure Ridge Park 45-13. QB Keegan Sullivan was 13/23 for 145 yards and two touchdowns, while RB Douglas Bodhaine added two scores on the ground to the total. The Tigers face their annual meeting with long-time 6A rival Trinity this Friday at Cardinal Stadium. 6. 6A Trinity (1-5) Trinity finally got the proverbial monkey off their back last week, dominating an over-matched 6A Jeffersontown 65-0, their first win in 2018. Sophomore QB Bradley West got the start and took advantage of the opportunity, going 6/6 for 182 yards and five touchdowns. The win probably came at the best possible time, as the Rocks gear up for their annual tilt with 6A Saint Xavier this Friday. 7. 5A Oldham County (4-1) A hot start to the season had the Colonels primed and ready for a showdown with their cross town rivals, 5A South Oldham. The Dragons, however, were the victors last Friday, handing OC their first loss of the season, 23-17. Lucas Jones and Parker Caudill each scored for the Colonels. Oldham County travels to 5A North Bullitt this week. 8. 6A North Hardin (4-2) On the heels of a four game winning streak, the Trojans ran into a road block, falling to 3A Boyle County 21-14 last Friday. They won't have any time to dwell on the loss either, as they host 2A power DeSales this week. 9. 3A Central (4-2) Following back to back losses to local 6A teams, the Yellow Jackets got back to their winning ways, dispatching 3A Henry County 20-9 last week. They will host 3A Waggener this week. 10. 4A Moore (5-1) The Mustangs got back in the W column and continue on one of their best seasons in recent memory, beating 4A Valley 27-0. Rae Von Vaden and Horatio Willis combined for 8/10, 153 yards and 3 TD's through the air to lead Moore to the victory. They will travel to 4A Breckenridge County this Friday. Weekly Trends: There hasn't really been much movement recently in the "trending up or trending down" department. That's likely to change in the coming weeks as we have several local match ups between teams in our Power Rankings. X/T, DeSales/CAL, Butler/X, Male/X, etc. The top of Louisville 6A should be sorting itself out in the next several weeks. Game of the Week: 6A Saint Xavier vs. 6A Trinity In what is the biggest high school football game in the state of Kentucky annually, a lot of question marks surround both teams even after six weeks. Even though the Rocks have won 14 of the last 15 games against their Tiger counterparts, this is probably the closest to a toss up game this series has seen in quite a while. Saint Xavier did not get the start they were looking for, starting 0-2, but a few plays here and there and they could be 5-0 as opposed to 3-2. Trinity, mostly due to their difficult scheduling, but also due to less than desirable play at times, just picked up their first win in 2018. We could learn a lot about one or both of these teams this week, and maybe figure out which team will challenge Male in the playoffs. Last Week's GOTW: 6A Male 30 6A Butler 12 This one was much closer than the final score, well into the 3rd Quarter, as both teams struggled to find any rhythm offensively. Butler forced two Male turnovers in the red zone in the 1st half, keeping the score within reach at 10-0 at the break. A couple big plays by Butler in the 3rd Quarter gave the crowd the feeling that an upset was in the making, but Male showed why they are #1 in the state, getting stops when they needed and putting points on the board in front of a hostile Butler home crowd. Neither team played that well, especially early, but that lead to an exciting game until late in the 4th Quarter. Male escaped with a win, and Butler showed they have the ability to hang with the "big boys." Player of the Week: WR Izayah Cummings, Male 8 receptions (career high) 165 yards (career high) 1 TD
  4. Here are the results for this week's Louisville Regional contest. As always, the results won't be final for 24 hours. All contestants should use that time to check their score for errors. 6. 1. Trinity (3-0) – A 38-30 victory over Moeller rounds out Trinity three games against out of state powers. The Rock's undefeated record against those three solidified Trinity's #1 ranking. This week is certainly not easy as Trinity will face 6A #3 Male High School on Male's home turf in The Game of the Week. 2. St. Xavier (2-0) – The Purples have been a bit of a monkey on X's back over the last few years but the Tigers rolled out of Bowling Green with a victory. This week will be considerably easier as they welcome Fairdale 3. Male (3-0) – The Bulldogs round out the old Big 3 by handedly defeating Doss. Male's toughest opponent of the season will be this week as Trinity visits Male. 4. Christian Academy of Louisville (3-0) – CAL earns another win over a quality opponent in Central Hardin last week. This week is another strong opponent as Elizabethtown High School visits the Centurions. 5. Pleasure Ridge Park (3-0) – PRP earns another victory last week over Eastern. This week competition improves as North Hardin comes to the Panther's home. 6. DeSales (3-0) – DeSales keeps their perfect record by running over their rival Louisville Holy Cross. This week will be a good match up as a solid Fern Creek visits. 7. Central (3-0) – The Yellow Jackets had an outstanding game last week as they beat a good Fern Creek team. This week will be a little easier as Ballard comes to Central 8. Fern Creek (2-1) – Fern Creek losing to a quality opponent like Central is nothing to lose sleep over. Losing 29-0 thought is somewhat concerning. The Tigers visit Butler with hopes of getting back on the wagon 9. South Oldham (1-1) South Oldham was idle last week, this week the Dragons should have an easy time with North Oldham. 10. Bullitt Central (3-0) The Cougars enter the Power Rankings with wins over Louisville Holy Cross, Spencer County and Southern. This week they will have a bye week. Honorable Mention - Manual (0-2) – Despite losing back to back, I still believe Manual can beat most of the teams in Louisville and will work its way back into the Power Rankings. Bulter (2-1) - Butler's sole loss was by one point to DeSales Teams on the Rise – Central with a great victory over Fern Creek Teams on the Decline – Fern Creek Featured Game of the Week – #1 Trinity versus #3 Male
  7. 1. Trinity (2-0) – Trinity gets another win over an Indiana power by inching past Warren Central High School 42-41. Things do not get any easier for the Rocks as they will contend with Cincinnati Catholic power, Archbishop Moeller High School. 2. St. Xavier (1-0) – The Tigers had the week off to prepare for their trip down I65 to visit Bowling Green High School. The Purples are coming off a shocking loss, could this make them even more dangerous? Or does this make them vulnerable to St. X who Bowling Green has had success with lately. Many will be looking for answers in this game. 3. Male (2-0) – The Bulldogs handled the Bruins of Ballard rather thoroughly but how will they do with the very talented Dragons of Doss High School? Male will be favored in the game but win or lose, Doss should put up a formidable fight. 4. Christian Academy of Louisville (2-0) – 2A CAL is making a habit of easily beating larger class foes with their victory over Eastern High School. Next week will be a stronger opponent in Central Hardin but the Centurions should be favored still. 5. Pleasure Ridge Park (2-0) – When it comes to Preseason rankings, some times you make some dumb predictions, ranking PRP #10 was without question a dumb one. The Panthers played outstanding sending the Purples back to Bowling Green shocked. The competition will be a much easier this week as PRP visits Louisville Eastern High School. 6. DeSales (2-0) – The Colts had a close one last week against always solid 6A Butler. DeSales should be a solid favorite against fellow South End Catholic High School, Louisville Holy Cross. 7. Fern Creek (2-0) – The Creek is rising in Fern Creek as the Tigers beat traditionally strong Manual High School but the competition gets better next week as the Tigers visit the Central Yellow Jackets who are having a strong season also making this the game of the week. 8. Central (2-0) – The Yellow Jackets squeaked by Western last week. Central better be ready this week as a Fern Creek team playing great football will be visiting. 9. Shelby County (2-0) Shelby County has two wins over weaker opponents, next week should be more difficult playing Meade County. 10. South Oldham (1-1) South recovers from the loss to CAL with a convincing win over talented Doss High School. Next week should be an easier opponent in North Oldham. Honorable Mention - Manual (0-2) – Despite losing back to back, I still believe Manual can beat most of the teams in Louisville and will work its way back into the Power Rankings. Collins (2-0) - With two nice wins, the titans are a team to watch. Teams on the Rise – Without question, PRP Teams on the Decline – Without question, Manual Featured Game of the Week – Fern Creek vs Central
  8. 1) Trinity High School (defeated Ensworth TN 45-0) – While the Ensworth team Trinity beat was not as historically strong as previous year’s teams, it is still Ensworth. So Trinity winning in such convincing fashion will keep the Rocks ranked number one. Next week, Brentwood TN 2) Male High School (defeated Floyd Central IN 41-0) – Many will say a victory over a Southern IN school is not that impressive but 41-0 is pretty impressive so Male stays #2 . Next week Ballard. This game will test how good these two top five Louisville teams are. 3) St. Xavier High School (Idle) – While X did not play in the opening week, they are still stinging in the “loss” to Simon Kenton in the scrimmage the week before. How much should a scrimmage be a factor????? Next week X plays Lexington Henry Clay and hard to call the first game of the season a must win but it could be to get the Simon Kenton monkey off their back and get some momentum going into the season. 4) Ballard (defeated Oldham Co. 54-0) – This author took some heat ranking the boys from Ballard as high as he did in the opening ranking but Ballard accepted that challenge by easily beating Oldham County. Next week is a huge challenge for them as that welcome Male to the Bruins home. 5) St. Francis DeSales (Defeated Fairdale 42-6) – DeSales being DeSales they win and they win convincingly. Next week will be a little more of a challenge against the 6A Butler Bears. 6) DuPont Manual High School (Defeated Central 28-10) Manual gets the victory over fellow Top Ten team Central and rises one step. The Crimsons should stay undefeated when they visit Fern Creek next week. 7) Christian Academy of Louisville (Lost to Simon Kenton 50-23) – CAL drops only one spot from their loss due to the respectable defeat coming from NKY 6A team Simon Kenton. CAL was winning a decent part of this game but SK’s numbers took over the game. CAL will face another 6A team next week in Eastern High School. 8) Meade County High School (Defeated Butler – 21-19) – Meade Co is the newest member of the top ten after defeating former top ten team Butler. Meade hopes to prove they deserve their new ranking next week when they visit PRP. 9) Central High School (Lost to DuPont Manual 28-10) – On the surface it would appear Central should have dropped more than one spot but because their loss was to a top ten team and the fact that no real strength is showing up elsewhere in the Louisville Area, they will stay at number 9. Next week Central will take on Knox Central. 10) Spencer County? (Defeated Bardstown 48-14) – The author of this Top Ten was grasping at straws at this point to find someone to fill the 10 spot. Numerous other teams could possibly fill it also. The author took heat in the opening ranking for leaving out Central Hardin but they lost to Boyle Co so hard to justify entering a Top Ten on a loss. Will have to see how Spencer does next week against Nelson County. Big Riser(s) – I think this award would have to go to Meade Co for entering the Top Ten at #8 . Big Droppers – Would have to go to Butler and John Hardin who’s losses dropped them out of the ranking overall. Game of the Week – Would have to be Male versus Ballard. Many say Male has an argument for being #1 over Trinity and a convincing win would support that argument and Ballard is tired of looking at the Big Three plus Manual for the past decade or more and a victory would put them in the mix of the 6A elite. Player of the Week – Trinity’s Jailen Reed who was the star of Trinity’s routing of Ensworth, TN.
  9. 1) Trinity High School (3-0, defeated Lexington Lafayette 70-14) – Some felt Lafayette would give Trinity a decent game, Trinity put that thought away pretty quickly. Next week’s game will be billed as the game of the season state wide and Trinity takes on Male at Male. 2) Male High School (3-0, defeated Fairdale 64-6) – Male’s continues to show its case for being number one over Trinity. Will wait till next week’s game to finally answer that question. 3) St. Xavier High School (2-0, defeated Bowling Green 45-19) – X finally shakes the Purple monkey off its back and gets a convincing win over BG. This game helps X puff its chest out as a member of the Big 3 decisively. Next week Central 4) St. Francis DeSales (3-0, Defeated Ballard 29-6) – Good quality win for DeSales. Proving to be a growing force in Louisville. Next week should be favored against rival Louisville Holy Cross. 5) DuPont Manual High School (3-0, Defeated Seneca 57-0) The Crimsons do the expected and more against the not very good Red Hawks. Next week will pit Manual against a better opponent in Ballard. 6) Pleasure Ridge Park (3-0, Defeated Doss 40-14) The Panthers continue winning and leap frog Ballard and Christian Academy they both lost this past Friday. Next week will be quality opponent John Hardin who will test PRP’s near top 5 ranking. 7) Central (1-2, Defeated Christian Academy 28-21) Really did not like ranking Central 7th being 1-2 but their losses were to quality opponents and they have a quality win versus CAL. Next week is St. X. 8) Ballard (1-2 Defeated by DeSales 29-6) Another case of not liking to rank someone 1-2 but the losses were to quality teams and I just feel Ballard could beat the teams ranked below them. 9) Spencer County (3-0, Defeated East Jessamine 40-8) Spencer County just keeps winning. Next week should be a better game against Bullitt East. 10) Central Hardin(2-1 Defeated Bullitt East 35-13) Nice win over Bullitt East but next week should prove if Central Hardin should be ranked higher up the rankings. Big Riser(s) – Will have to go to Central. Their fine win against CAL puts them back in the rankings. Big Dropper(s) – Goes to CAL. Their loss to Central drops them out of the rankings. Game of the Week – Trinity versus Male. The two top teams in the state which cannot be argued.
  10. 1) Male High School (5-0, defeated Seneca 63-0) – No real surprise on this victory. Next week versus Butler should be a similar story. 2) Trinity High School (4-1, defeated by PRP 44-0) – The victory is not a surprise but the margin of victory is. PRP was playing well enough that many thought they should have been able to score on Trinity and prevent a few TD’s by Trinity. Next week versus Jeffersontown should be a pretty boring game. 3) St. Xavier High School (3-1, defeated by Highlands 37-6) – X gets back to winning by soundly beating Highlands. Next week is PRP which X should win. 4) DuPont Manual High School (4-0, Defeated Ballard 24-19) Nice victory over a decent Ballard. Next week against Western should be an easy victory. 5) Central (2-2, Idle) Central still basking in their victory over St. X. Next week is Waggener, should be heavily favored. 6) Fern Creek (4-1 Defeated DeSales 14-0) Welcome to the rankings Fern Creek with a nice win over DeSales and overall a good season. Next week should be an easy win over Fairdale. 7) St. Francis DeSales (4-1, Defeated by Fern Creek 14-0) – DeSales was playing incredible football till this past weekend. DeSales hopes to get back on the saddle this coming weekend against John Hardin 8) Pleasure Ridge Park (4-1, Defeated by Trinity 44-0) Bad loss for a pretty good PRP team. Won’t be much easier next week against St. X. 9) Elizabethtown (5-0, Defeated Bardstown 38-7) Etown just keeps winning. Next week they play Edmonson County who Etown should be favored to beat. 10) Spencer County (5-0, Defeated Bullitt Central 77-42) Never guessed BC would score 42 points on Spencer but when you score 77 I guess it doesn’t matter. Next week’s game versus Collins should have quite a bit less scoring. Big Riser(s) – Easy, Fern Creek. Big Dropper(s) – DeSales and Ballard Game of the Week – St. X versus PRP.
  11. Apologies on the tardiness of this ranking. 1) Male High School (7-0, Idle) – Next week versus St. X should be a pretty god match up for Male. 2) Trinity High School (7-1, defeated Eastern 63-7) – Easy win by Trinity. Next week versus Seneca could be even worse. 3) St. Xavier High School (5-2, defeated Manual 27-6) – Good win over a strong Manual team. Next week against Male could be a great game. 4) DuPont Manual High School (6-1, Defeated by St. X 27-6) Disappointing loss for the Rams, this was Manual’s best chance to beat X in years. Next week versus PRP should be a good game. 5) Central (5-2, Defeated Thomas Nelson 48-0) No surprise Central won, just how soundly Central won. Next week versus Bardstown may be a little better game. 6) Fern Creek (6-1 Defeated Doss 37-8) No surprise. Next week is Iroquois, probably a similar story. 7) Pleasure Ridge Park (4-3, Defeated Butler 35-18) PRP gets a win again after brutal 3 game stretch for PRP which featured T, X and Male all in a row. Next week against Manual will be another difficult game. 8) Elizabethtown (7-0, Idle) Easy win and next week versus Adair County will probably be last real chance for someone to beat Etown in the regular season. 9) St. Francis DeSales (5-2, Defeated by Christian Acadamy 16-0) – DeSales took a pretty big step backwards. DeSales most likely will get a win next week against Washington Co. 10) Spencer County (8-0, Defeated Franklin Co 47-42) Spencer keeps wins a close one versus a good Franklin Co. Next week’s game versus Shelby Co should be another good game. Big Riser(s) – Christian Academy Louisville. Thought about putting them in the Top Ten. Big Dropper(s) – DeSales. Did CAL expose them or is Cal better than they looked early in the season. Game of the Week – St. X versus Male.
  12. 1) Male High School (7-0, defeated PRP 44-0) – About what I was expecting. Next week versus St. X should be a pretty good match up for Male. 2) Trinity High School (6-1, defeated St. X 20-15) – Nice win for Trinity is huge rivalry, just too many mistakes by the long snapper giving X points. Next week versus Eastern, Should be a snoozer of a game and a good week to fix weaknesses discovered in the St. X game. 3) St. Xavier High School (4-2, defeated by Trinity 20-15) – St. X had a very difficult time moving the ball. With the exception of one drive, Trinity gifted points to X. X needs to make adjustments or they could easily lost to Manual. 4) DuPont Manual High School (6-0, Defeated Butler 47-0) Pretty much expected a score like this. Next week against X will be the first time Manual will not be favored this season but Manual has the best chance to beat X this year than in many previous years. 5) Central (4-2, Defeated Moore 46-6) No surprise. Thomas Nelson should give a little bit better of a game next week. 6) Fern Creek (6-1 Defeated Southern 39-0) Fern Creek was just too much for Southern. Next week is Doss, could be worse. 7) St. Francis DeSales (5-1, Defeated North Hardin 41-7) – DeSales is back to its winning ways.. DeSales faces its rival Christian Academy next week. 8) Pleasure Ridge Park (4-3, Defeated by Male 44-0) End of a brutal 3 game stretch for PRP which featured T, X and Male all in a row. Next week against Butler will be like a vacation. 9) Elizabethtown (7-0, Defeated Hart County 49-7) Easy win and next week versus LaRue County will probably be also. No reason to believe Etown will not end the rest of the season undefeated. 10) Spencer County (7-0, Defeated North Oldham) Spencer keeps on winning. Next week’s game versus undefeated Franklin Co should be a good game. Big Riser(s) – No one really. Big Dropper(s) – Again, no one. Game of the Week – St. X versus Male.
  13. Bluegrasspreps.com is giving you a chance to show off your football knowledge statewide! The Bluegrasspreps Regional contest gives you a chance to pick games in different parts of the state for prizes EACH WEEK. At the end of the regular season, the winner of each region and the next five highest point totals statewide (the Wild cards) will compete during the playoffs for statewide bragging rights on Bluegrasspreps. If you win more than one position in the postseason playoff, then your second slot will go to the next Wild card. The best part is, if you win a weekly contest, you will receive a quality prize. Check here for a reference. The overall state winner after the playoffs will get a grand prize custom made for you. The deadline for all entries is 5 p.m. (ET) Friday. Be sure to post your winners and assign each of them one of the following point values (7-5-3-2-1) based on how strongly you feel that that team will win. (Please note that if your selections are NOT in the specified format, your ENTIRE set of picks will be voided) 7 5 3 2 1 1st Tiebreaker 2nd Tiebreaker: Time of post. The games for Week 2 in the Louisville Area Regional contest are: Christian Academy of Louisville vs. Eastern Bullitt East vs. Nelson County Oldham County vs. North Oldham Iroquois vs. Waggener Western vs. North Hardin

The regional contests give you opportunities to pick games in different parts of the state for prizes EACH WEEK. There will be five regional contests every week. You will have a chance to pick the winners in each region -- NKY, EKY, Bluegrass, Louisville, and WKY. This is the Louisville area contest. Early bird gets the worm if the contest comes down to the second tiebreaker. This is a season long contest and you can enter in any or all regions that you wish. At the end of the regular season, the winner of each region and the next five highest point totals statewide (the Wild cards) will compete during the special Sweet 16 Contest for statewide bragging rights on Bluegrasspreps and a grand prize. If you win more than one position in the postseason playoff, then your second slot will go to the next Wild card. The more contests you enter, the better your chances of qualifying for the Sweet 16 Contest. If you win a weekly contest, you will receive a quality prize. Check here for a reference. This contest includes CASH PRIZES. The overall winner will receive $75, the runner-up will receive $25, and the third place finisher will receive $10. This means weekly participation is crucial! The deadline for all entries is 5 p.m. (ET) Friday. Make sure you post your winners and assign each of them one of the following point values (7-5-3-2-1) based on how strongly you feel that that team will win. (Please note that if your selections are NOT in the specified format, your ENTIRE set of picks will be voided) 7 5 3 2 1 1st Tiebreaker: Team scoring the most points. 2nd Tiebreaker: Time of post. The Week 7 games are: Spencer Co vs. Bullitt Central DuPont Manual vs. Atherton North Bullitt vs. Shawnee North Hardin vs. Central Hardin Doss vs. Southern
