Drake Bruns-Highlands, Alex Mattingly-St X, and Jermey Harness-John Hardin are 3 that come to mind.

Has some head scratching choices and some glaring omissions.....just like the AP and Courier Journal teams. Congrats to those that made it!

There will be just as many "How does (insert players name here) not make it?" with each of the CJ, HL, & BGP all-state teams as there are with the AP regardless of the process.

I was underwhelmed by Highlands lack of overall team speed. In saying that, Towels is a special player. A player that big and that athletic is why he is a high D1 recruit.

After watching the Highlands/Franklin Simpson game, I question Leathernecks film evaluation. Highlands has a very good team with an unbelievable talent at QB, but I did not see what he perceives to be dominate line play by Highlands.

They are where they were expected to be.

Tell that to Lou St X, which lost to BG at home. Whole different ballgame? Overrated.

The last time Highlands played one of the Louisville big 2 was the 2005 & 2006 season. St X put a RUNNING CLOCK on them in 2005 and beat them 2 TD's in 2006. Haven't had much interest in scheduling either of them since then. It is easier to not schedule them and talk about being the best in the state than actually playing them on a regular basis.

It's a lot tougher to get to the state championship game out of the west. There are no Johnson Centrals in the West to beat down.:thumb:

No they won't. They won't play defense. 84 is an stupid number to give up, but they have given up a bunch of points all year.

X wouldn't give up 35 total points to Ballard if they played 5 times. X is head and shoulders above Scott Co. IMO.
