I am laughing at these responses..... First win in 10 years, 14 games !! Give me a break. Just enjoy the fact that you are 1-0 this Century because you were 0-14 last. Best team one tonight, no doubt. -

If you are going to " rebuild" a program why would you even think of doing that with someone from the current staff? It is time to wipe the slate clean and get a staff that wants to rejuvenate this program! The program needs new blood that is going to come in and reorganize this program from the 6th grade middle school team thru the Varsity team. There are plenty of great athletes in the system and there is no reason that the Basketball team should not be in the top 5 year after year in Northern Ky. -

Back to last nights game....Congrats to the Breds!! They were the much better team last night and I would love for them to make a GREAT showing in the regionals! Also good luck to Newport. I think the 36th can make some noise this year. -
I have been around Highlands Basketball for lots of years now and that is the worst effort that I have ever seen. It just seemed as if they were expecting Ryle to lay down and hand them a victory. Ryle played a GREAT game! Congrats to the coaches and players.

Collinsworth offered by Notre Dame...
PASSER replied to katbird's topic in KY Football (High School)
This may have been asked in prior threads, has there ever been a Highlands kid play football at Notre Dame ?? -
Collinsworth to UK? (This appears to be false)

He has always looked great in Blue and White -
Austin Collinsworth is a STUD high school football player in the State of Kentucky and there is no doubt that he should have been on the ballot of 15 for the Mr. Ky. Football award. He has been an all-state player at 3 positions the last 3 years, asked to and went to the Army's national H.S. football combine as a Jr.. He won the Hornung Award as Ky Outstanding Football player, today received an invite to the Army's All American Bowl game as the only H.S. player from Ky. to get asked. MVP of the State game. He has college offers from 2 west coast top 20 teams,SEC teams,Big East teams and an Ivy league team. My guess is he is the highest reguarded recruit in the State. Yes, injuries kept some of his stats lower than they ought to have been but due to all the blowout games, he spent lots of valuble statistics time watching the JV players in the second half of games. I'm not saying that he deserved to win the Mr. Ky. Award but definitely should have been on the ballot !! JMO :thumb:

Sorry for the delay in response, yes Cris's brother Greg played at FSU.

Glad to see Jac Collinsworth playing. His body got beat up pretty well during football season and knew he was up in the air wether to play or not. He is a talented athlete and could really shine in both sports. His Uncle played at Florida State and grandpa at UK so it is not just a football family. What about Donovan McCoy, is he playing??

Austin was on the sideline tonight feeling fine! He and family are heading up East for a very nice College visit in the morning. Looking forward to seeing him back in uniform soon! :jump:

State Track Meet
PASSER replied to Henry521's topic in KY Swimming, Track, Lacrosse, Golf (High School)
Congrats to all the athletes that participated in todays state meet. Is this Back to Back titles for the Lady Birds from HHS ?? Wow what an awesome feat for those girls!!! -
I would have to agree that it is time to go outside of the program and get some "fresh"blood into the system. There must be a young coach out there that could come in and blend this talented group that they have coming back. Also it would be great to get the student body involved again, they were a no show this past season. A little enthusiasm can go a long way.

Wow I was thinking about the same young man,his name is Tony Bacigalupo . He knows more of the X's and O's of the game than most. I think he is the kind of coach that the program needs.

Way to go Bulldogs!!!! Congratulations from your fans from Highlands. We are very proud of our 9th Region Champions!!!!!:dancingpa
