Should we expect to see an offer to Austin Collinsworth from South Bend?

The writing is on the wall and Brian Kelly will be the next coach at ND. Since he recruited AC at UC can we expect something from ND? I say yes.

Ugh...I cant stand the thought of it. First, BK leaving for ND but then having Austin play there too?! That might be too much to handle....I guess I would actually have to start watching the Golden Domers.

In all seriousness, I just hope Austin follows his heart (and trust that he will). If that means ND, so be it. Now that his run with us is over...I just cant wait to watch him play at the next level wherever it is!

I would say no. Not a personal knock on the kid. But when you move up the ladder in jobs you will also move up the ladder in recruiting. Although Cincy is a better team present-day, ND targets the bigger named recruits.

So Kyle Rudolph was a bigger recruit then AC is this season? Go check the Navy roster and you will see former Ryle star Vince Murray listed. He only ran all over ND this year, 2 tds and 165 yrds in a win. Murray was a D1 player but ND didn't bat an eye his way. AC is the best player in the state and plays on the 4th ranked team in the nation. He's a smart kid who could easily pass the rigorous admitting standards and he has a ton of upside. He could be the next Wes Welker at WR or even better a John Lynch type DB. His work ethic is unreal and he could put on another 20lbs easily.

No honor for a prophet in his own land.

Can anyone from HHS explain how AC was not on the Mr. Football ballot?

Not sure want ya know about recruiting at Notre Dame, but it's a little different than other schools in that the pool they have to pick from is not near as large based on academic standards. I've heard a former ND coach talk about this at length. Whether you agree or not I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that Austin Collinsworth is one of the bigger named recruits. :D

No we can't explain it. Mindboggling.

Ya Kyle Rudolph was a much bigger recruit. He was a 5 star and the top TE in the nation. Plus he has a 6'6" frame and was recruited by everyone.

As good as AC is I agree Rudolph was a much bigger recruit.

Ok I succumb Rudolph is a stud.

Really? Mindboggling? He missed somewhere between one third and one half the season. As great as he is, you do have to play and put up numbers to justify that type of nomination. I am glad he is not on there because it would have been an absolute travesty for him to win it with the amount of time he missed due to injury.

As to Notre Dame, I think ND with Kelly will definitely talk to AC. He has the academics and that is a big hurdle getting players there. I am surprised they haven't been after him already. Maybe he told them he wasn't interested? If Kelly goes there does AC become interested in ND?

Why is this mindboggling. Look at his numbers for the year. He missed quite a few games and did not put up the numbers to support being nominated.

As far as ND goes, it could be possible. Recruits do have a tendancy to change their schools when the coach that recruits them ends up somewhere else.

AC still played in 11 or 12 games. He was hurt by having a coach with a soft spot for other teams. If you remember the Birds toyed with the Tigers deciding to work on their passing game. AC if they would have given him the ball 15 times would have gotten 200 and 3 to 4 TDs easily. They played their cards right but he still should have gotten on the ballot. Answer why and how he can get the Paul Horning award as the best player in the state playing for the best team in the state but he can't make the list?

AC is outstanding, but there are more deserving athletes.

Elder's Rudolph was the better recruit, especially when you consider he plays TE.
