Highlands 67 Scott 20

Featured Replies

Scott showed some real spark in the first quarter, as the score remained 13-7 Highlands. But the Birds turned it on in the 2nd quarter and led 48-7 at the half. The second half was basically a jv game. Although Will Bardo did get some more valuable tune-up time in that half.

I like the showing that Scott was able to display tonight despite the lopsided lost. They competed early with a team that clearly outmatched them in every facet of the game. I'm proud of you Eagles, keep on fighting!

I'm glad to see Scott showed some life, I thought it would end up being worse than it was so hats off to them boys for not rolling over.

My "gut check play of the night" goes to Jake True for his great run in the second half. Every time it looked like they had him down, he just kept coming back for more. He almost took it to the house.

Ya' just got to squeeze the punkin a little bit harder in the finish next time. But otherwise, an awesome effort by Jake! :thumb:

Was Collinsworth out due to illness or his hand? I did not see him on the sidelines.

Austin was on the sideline tonight feeling fine!

He and family are heading up East for a very nice College visit in the morning.

Looking forward to seeing him back in uniform soon!

Don't get this one. Why would a high school kid roll over even if you are getting beat? They are playing the game they love. They don't practice all week long to "roll over"!:irked:

They have some really nice players. Qb played a great game considering who they were playing. Defensive guys made some really nice plays. They were just out maned. These things happen sometimes.

About what I expected for the outcome. I do have to ask why Wil Bardo and David Hogue are in the game on offense for the final two scores. Bardo had no business being in there at that time of the game IMO. Just seems to me like pouring a little salt in the wound. Can someone let me know how Cam Dierig is doing after getting his leg rolled up on.

I'm sure that had absolutely nothing to do with it. He's coming off a big injury and a long time on the sidelines. On top of that, he was playing an all new position. They need to utilize every possible minute of live game action to get him back on track and comfortable in his new assignment.

The only reason Bardo was in the game is because the coaches feel he needs some time to get used to playing a new position. They could have highlighted him but they didn't. If you watch the game you will notice they worked on blocking more than running the ball. With running backs like Fennell and Steeter whats the rush? I agree he could have been pulled out of the game a little earlier than he was but I'm not a coach and they know why he was in there more than we do. As for Hogue, I don't understand why he is not on the field more, again I'm not a coach of course.

Has Bardo switched to TE?

Has Bardo switched to TE?

Slot back... Kick-off return etc. etc.

Nice to see William back in the game... speed kills and that is what he delivered this evening. Ryle will have their hands full trying to figure this backfield out...

Hats off to the Eagle's coach and assistant coach. Both made a point of contacting Bardo after the game to congratulate him on his return to the football field. That's nothing but class in my book! :thumb:

Soooo.... If Scott scored 20 and Cincy St. X scored 7....well never mind. Still havent heard from that person again!

Oh come on, that had zero to do with it. He's at a new position and needed to get some reps, just as simple as that.
