Don't get this one. Why would a high school kid roll over even if you are getting beat? They are playing the game they love. They don't practice all week long to "roll over"!:irked:

 

They have some really nice players. Qb played a great game considering who they were playing. Defensive guys made some really nice plays. They were just out maned. These things happen sometimes.

 

I've been to many Scott games this year and have seen two different teams. One that shows up and plays and one that just puts on a uniform.

If that were the case then why not play him there right from the start of the game and not when the score and game were out of hand. I understand that he needs the work at a new position, but really feel that it was not really doing him any good at that time in the game. It is good to see that he is able to get back to playing for his senior year. Please do not insult my intelligence by telling me that he needs the reps in a game when the score is 61-20. Will he be playing next week against Ryle and in the playoffs or do we have to wait until the score differential is 40+ points?

Again, I think that he can and will be a factor down the stretch, but if he needs minutes then he needs them early in the game when the opponent is not pretty much demoralized.

 

I wasn't in attendance so I will defer to the coach. He probably has a pretty good idea of where and when any of his players should be on the field, especially one that has been inactive for many weeks due to a serious injury. I'm kind of surprised that you have taken this stance.

From what I've heard Coach Campbell is a first class guy!

 

And a good tactician! One of the few teams that didn't wait until they're blown out to try "trickeration" to keep their team in the game. They came out and punched the HHS defense right in the mouth on a very nice scoring drive. They then tried an onside kick. It didn't work, but the strategy was sound...pull the unexpected when you are decidedly the underdog. Besides, field position is better than having Bardo, Streeter, AC, True, et al run the ball back to the other side of the 50...and you just may retain possession!

Scott fan forever but come on guys Highlands toyed with Scott on that first drive. Game this week for Scott can really get ugly quick especially playing a County rival Miles big game probably breaks 2000 yard mark for the season I believe he needs 300 and some change to do it.

There was a play in the second quarter that I'm still a bit puzzled about. It happened on a Highlands kickoff when no Scott player touched the ball despite it bouncing around near their 20. One of the Highlands players, I believe one of the Bruns' brothers, picked the ball up and advanced it for what looked like a score, but was apparently not. We assumed that this was just a long onside kick. Anyone know what happened there? Was it a live ball? Did he step out of bounds? Seemed to cause some confusion on the field, as well as in the stands.:idunno:

I don't believe the kicking team can advance a recovered kick not possessed by the receiving team. Muffed kick rule. Correct call by the refs.
