  1. I must have been sitting next to you because I knew this foul was going to happen when the ball was still at midcourt. The reporter was standing above the basket on the balcony and had a "birds"eye view of the foul and followup scuffle. Does Carr yell at his players like that every game??? That is a little over the top for me.I mean he really doesn't stop yelling all game long.:idunno:
  2. Sounds like a classic High School BB game that all would enjoy to watch! The rivalry between these schools has become one of the best around and you expect it to come down to the wire.Congrats to both teams for putting quality kids and coaching staffs on the court year after year!! NOBODY can say anything bad about coach Jimmy P.... it is in the blood.Do you recall a great coach by the name Jimmy V.......
  3. Also another school is in the "I want Austin" hunt........ STANFORD Got his offer friday. Once again congrats to Austin and his family!!!!! Come on UK,he is in your backyard:idunno:
  4. Did you know that Chris Carter changed his name spelling to Cris because he idolized Cris Collinsworth......It's true!
  5. Way to go Austin!! Congrats to you and your whole family!! Keep your head on straight and continue to be a leader in your awesome senior class. Best of luck to your continued success on the gridiron... :thumb:
  6. Way to go Birds!!! Love to see some stats............
  7. The Birds sure needed this one!! It was a tough weekend for Willie and the boys :thumb:
  8. I was shocked by the outcome of the game.Walking into the gym I thought HHS would walk out a 10 point winner. The bad thing is I also think the HHS players thought the same.... NCC came out showing ALOT of heart and muscle. They were quicker and more aggressive and had HHS playing on their heals the whole game. I thought Grant P played a perfect game! You talk about a kid that came to play!!! He got a shot in the ribs and sucked it up and came back in playing even harder. The 2 Geisler boys out hustled the HHS big guys and controlled the inside game. I think I would have thrown Grubbs in there to show a little strength under the boards for HHS. Good luck to both teams and hope to see a different outcome in the District game.
  9. Highlands beat them 28-0 on November 7th.Their serious athletes were 4 td's worse than Highlands.
  10. Before LN gets on here and says "we where lucky and played sloppy" I want to mention some things. The run /pass game was split down the middle with yardage, probably close to 200 yards each.We scored everytime we had the ball in the 1st half. Defense gave up some big plays but seemed to make it up by causing turnovers. We have played tough running teams the last 3 weeks and have got to be a little worn down. I think we are ready for Louisville and primed to bring home #18 Go Birds!! Henry, thanks a ton for getting all the transportation setup for us......It sure was fun :dancingpa
  11. Both HHS Boys and Girls to play in the Finals:dancingpa First time in Ky. Soccer history to have both teams in finals GO BIRDS!!!
  12. That is awsome !! Who scored and at what time of the game............. Just 1 more girls:thumb:
  13. I was totally impressed by the play of the Birds last night!! The mix of Juniors and Seniors is fun to watch,in the past it seems like our great teams have been Senior dominated but not this year. I thought the defensive play by the Birds was as good as it gets. The Madison Central team came in with a 38 point per game avg and left Ft.Thomas with 0 . MC had alot of offensive weapons to throw at the Birds and they were able to adjust to every one of them, great job!! I thought the Birds offense was also great with a nice combo of running and passing. The 99.99 yd pass play was a thing of beauty and proved to be the "icing on the Cake" Great Team Victory Birds!!!
  14. Henry, You know that I'm married to the RUMdummie...:lol:
  15. Wow what a team and what a senior class!!! First time girls State Champions!! Way to go girls and thanks to all the coaches for a great season!:banana::banana:
  16. Our families thoughts and prayers are also there for Mitch, his family and the medical staff that is attending to him. DMZ please keep us updated. Thanks!
  17. Spoke with Nic's mom tonight and Nic is being operated on Tuesday at 1 o'clock . He broke the bone between his middle finger and wrist. They are putting a "pin" in it for proper healing. Should be out of cast in 4 weeks and a couple weeks of rehab. I don't know where the season is in 6 weeks?? Nic is very "DOWN" as you would expect, he and his team were of to a terrific start. Go Birds!!
  18. It appears that Henry got one of the boys to fix the computer today or went to the library to get her post in. I know that Friday night it was down and she had the shakes because she couldn't get all the updates :lol: By the way Henry I loved your Blue and White Christmas trees and garland decorating the house, I think you might have started something with that.:thumb::thumb::thumb:
  19. As a Bluebird fan I did not think they looked sharp at all today. They played well enough to win but just did not have all the "pistons " hitting at the same time. I am not sure if CovCath took us out of our game or if the boys were just stressed due to the pressure that seems to be thrown on them during "CovCath" week from the coaching staff ??? I know Clay Cecil had been fighting the flu over the last week or so and Josh Conner has been fighting back problems, these two are the spark of the offense and we need them healthy all season. Thought that Jay Draper really played well today! He really looked aggressive going up for the ball and made key catches for us. I thought the defense looked good today, giving up 123 yds. against any CovCath team isn't too bad at all. Good luck and keep focused one week at a time for that ultimate goal of bringing home #17
  20. What a great team win for the Birds!! The coaches put together an awesome game plan that hit the Rams right out of the box. The two quick scores really put them on their heels and they never recovered. The offensive line played one heck of a game!! They were "awesome" as coach would say. I also thought coach W did a great job with the defense!! When they went to the spread it took us a few series to adjust but we were able to close that down over time. Our kicking game continued to be excellent!!! Zachs punts were great and Drews kicks were to the rear of the endzone everytime. From what I can see we are witnessing a very special team this year and i am very proud of them! Go Birds
  21. I would have to think Jim Bunning is right there also,he is in the Hall Of Fame.
  22. I thought that Listerman and MINNIE-ME ( his son ) were very intimidating last night. They had the refs ear all night last night.I am not saying that it changed the outcome of the game but they did get the refs attention alot. Minnie-me seems to have alot to say for being the assistant coach, usually they keep the head coach calm...but not in this case. No disrespect, they are good coaches.:thumb:
  23. Boy O Boy Leatherneck, you are even getting my attention with your posts !! I have not posted for a long time about HHS football but you are getting me interested again:argue:
