The bowls were originally designed to give cold midwesterners a chance to vacation in a warm weather spot. Then they became a reward for teams with winning records and a chance to further develop young players. They exist now, almost solely, as a money making venture for ESPN.

Imagine for a moment this wasn't about college football. Imagine instead this was clinical trials for a new drug or a prized astrophysicist trying to explain an anomaly deep in outer space or, heck, assembling a bookshelf you bought from IKEA. Any such endeavor requires not just a result that seems to work, but a process that can be repeated, again and again, by a completely different set of people, before anyone gives it enough credence that a majority of people -- even ones who don't understand the process at all -- believe in the work that was done and trust the results provided. An insanely bad timeout by Franklin. That kid can’t make a 40 yarder yet you give them time to think and scheme. And so you lose.

He's a better studio guy, sideline guy. Not a fan of his play-by-play, although to be fair it is a tough job.

The amount of bad timeouts high school coaches take is astounding.

While I get it, think about how many offensive coordinators under Stoops looked terrible then immediately looked great at their new jobs. Remember, Brian Kelly got fired from LSU, so the coordinator might have been more of a reflection of Kelly than himself, the same as Stoops at UK. Give it a chance.

I doubt the district changes much. Those schools are all close to each other and very similar in size. As for the opposite district, who knows.

I thought last night was Oweh's best performance of the season. Shot 6-for-11, took only one 3-pointer, 16 points and 4 rebounds. He looked a lot like last year, which is a consistently solid player. But he's not, and never should have been considered an All-American. He is what he is. And I'm with you on Moreno, lots of upside. I think he's looking more comfortable at the high post but he's certainly not Williams at this point. Of course there's a difference between being 18 and 22 years old.

I don't think its 4 touchdowns right off the bat, but I could see it getting there a la the CovCath game.

Of the two, Hartline seems to be the more advanced option. However, with the way Kentucky folded down the stretch, the importance of winning over a bored-to-death fan base, and all the while maintaining donors for NIL and other projects, Stein would certainly seem a worthy risk. If you're considering some of the other names floated around (Mullen, Brent Key, Chesney, Neal Brown), I doubt any of them check all three of the above boxes. Will it work? I guess we shall see...

Not a Catholic school, but I seem to remember Stefan LeFors holding a similar position when he was the coach at Christian Academy-Louisville. For any private school who has to work to get and keep students this would seem like a pivotal job, but also a job well suited to many of the strengths of a coach.

I know people knock Barnhart a lot but I can't imagine he pulls the trigger on firing Stoops without a replacement close to ready.

While I think @se7ens answered the question best, you also have to factor in relationships between coaches. Somerset's coach played for Lincoln's coach - maybe they'd rather not play each other. And sometimes coaches with relationships do want to play each other. So you never know. By the way, this is the 51st year of Lincoln County High School and they've played Somerset 45 times.

Especially in the postseason when it’s cold. Not as big of issue in the regular season when it’s warmer but players and coaches should always have access to bathrooms at half. That’s a really bad look by LCA.
