  1. Just a reminder, the current alignment is only for two seasons (2023 and 2024). The plan it to completely realign again before the 2025 season. If St. Henry begins varsity play in 2025, it probably will be in Class 2A but it may not be the same teams that are currently aligned with Beechwood.
  2. This is wonderful if that is the case. I wondered if moving the game to Saturday might be because it wasn't completely finished but a day game would be easier to manage than a night game.
  3. Sneaky good year for Class 1A. It seems like in the past this is a two or three team class, at best. I don't believe everyone can win the title but the teams at the bottom of the top ten are legitimately solid clubs this season.
  4. The first four are title contenders, the next three are capable of winning a couple playoff games, but this class really falls off after that.
  5. I've thought all year it was a three-team race (Bowling Green, Highlands, and South Warren in some order), but every team below is more than capable of putting a scare into or even knocking off each other. Class 5A should be a very fun bracket to follow.
  6. I'm in the same boat. Seems like a game that could be 21-21 at halftime before Simon Kenton wins by 2-3 scores.
  7. Adair County's last two playoff wins both came against Union County, one in 2015 and another in 2016. I think the Indians will compete with Union but I'll give the slight edge to the home team in one of the better 1-4 matchups of the first round.
  8. Numbers 4-10 seem very interchangeable to me. It seemed like it was all bad news for Belfry before the season started and then they were blown out by Clark County. However, they were competitive in losses to really good teams in Southwestern and Pikeville before running off five straight wins to finish the year. We'll most likely see Belfry and Bell County in round two in a game that, in my opinion, could go either way.
  9. CovCath would compete with (and maybe beat) all the Top 5 in Louisville. I don’t believe Beechwood or Ashland would beat any of the Top 5.
  10. I’d say that about Boyle, Corbin, and CovCath. I might not say it about Franklin or Tilghman right now. But if either of those two win it all, then you’d have to say they’re perhaps the best.
  11. Class 4A has about ten teams that could be ranked anywhere from 9th on down. I agree with you that both of those games could be very good.
  12. There are three groups in 6A: Group 1 is the top five ranked teams here. All of them could win a title (although I’m not totally sold on Manual). Group 2 is the collection of Station, Ballard, Bullitt East, and maybe PRP (although like Manual above, I’m not totally sold on PRP). All of them can win multiple playoff games and could scare one of the top five, but I don’t think they can win a title. Group 3 is everyone else (including Ryle and Simon Kenton). And I’d say every team ranked 1-5 is dying to play a Group 3 team instead of one from Group 2.
  13. One of the best books I've read this year. We hear often about Little Rock Central and Boston and Chicago but I had never heard the story of Clinton, Tennessee. I would highly recoomend.
  14. Bullitt Central was 4-6 when they knocked off Daviess County in the first round in 1993.
  15. Pretty good tradition at Anderson County and it wasn't that long ago that they finished the regular season undefeated. Obviously @ChiefSmoke walked into a difficult spot but he's doing it the right way. This win was certainly a good building block going into the offseason.
  16. In 1991, the first season of four teams from each district qualifying (and still four classes), Greenup County finished 0-10 and made the playoffs.
  17. Two schools with quite extensive non-athletic histories. Little Rock Central was at the center of desegregation following Brown v. Board of Education while De La Salle graduated all the Chicago Daleys, both Greg and Bryant Gumbel, and a host of other prominent people in American history.
  18. He got rolled under while blocking in their game against Garrard last week. He looked to be in a lot of pain and they carried him off the field, but he didn't leave in an ambulance (at least not that I saw). It didn't look good, but hopefully he'll be able to bounce back before basketball season.
  19. This one is exciting. Should be a great game. Typically you’d say this is just for bragging rights but a win here could have huge RPI implications for both teams.
  20. They were 1-3 in district in 2017 with losses to Christian County, Apollo, and Graves County. Prior to that, the last district loss had come against Madisonville in 2012.
  21. Impressive season thus far for the Rockets. I thought this game would be closer, but Rockcastle County seems to be playing at a very high level.
