Beechwood 54 Walton-Verona 3

That's a Calpreps predictor score if I ever saw one, right down to the Walton-Verona field goal! -
Lincoln County 40 Wayne County 33
gchs_uk9 replied to Shaquille_Oatmeal's topic in KY Football (High School)
Wayne's pre-district schedule was pretty weak and even at 5-0, they weren't exactly routing those teams. I think it has shown against Taylor and Lincoln the last two weeks. -
Rockcastle County 40 Bell County 38
gchs_uk9 replied to Jumper_Dad's topic in KY Football (High School)
Absolutely. I think this was the game every had marked as "truth or fiction" about Rockcastle. They definitely passed the test. -
True, but also this...

Yeah, Garrard has been in some pretty tough districts the last couple of alignments before this year. They've shown improvement throughout this season but tonight (especially the first half) was the sharpest the offense has looked all year. Still missing a key lineman who hopefully will be back next week. Hopefully the Golden Lions can finish strong.

It feels like we've talked a lot about Boyle, Corbin, and CovCath in Class 4A but the Flyers have been pretty impressive all season, in particular the defense. Allowing 9.5 points per game is solid. I continue to think the Class 4A playoffs will be a whole lot of fun from about round two on.

Golden Lions jumped out early with two quick touchdowns and were in control the rest of the way. If they can win in two weeks (after the bye) against Marion County it would likely secure a home playoff game for the first time since 2014.

Good win for Coach Jaggers and the Patriots. -
BluegrassPreps.com Class 3A Football Rankings 9/25
gchs_uk9 replied to theguru's topic in KY Football (High School)
Agreed. I think Mercer has been right outside the top ten all season. The problem is to this point, Class 3A has been pretty chalky from 4-10, while almost everyone believes the brutal schedules played by Lexington Catholic and Central have bought them some grace at the top. I'm sure the rankings will change next week after Rockcastle beat Bell and Franklin-Simpson beat Glasgow. -
BluegrassPreps.com Class 3A Football Rankings 9/25
gchs_uk9 replied to theguru's topic in KY Football (High School)
Obviously the Franklin-Simpson/Glasgow game is big, but I’m intrigued by three games pitting ranked teams against those just off the board. I think Bell/Rockcastle, Belfry/Lawrence, and Hart/Adair may all be won by the ranked teams but it will be interesting to see if there are any upsets or even close games. There are several solid clubs just off the top ten in Class 3A. -
Which makes sense because you wouldn’t want to punish a team’s ranking when they can’t help who they are paired against in the playoffs.

Saint Xavier vs. Trinity Predictions/Updates

I like the aggression Trinity has played with tonight. They’ve attempted (and landed several) haymakers on offense all evening. -

Trinity has been better in every facet. This has been a bit of a whooping from the opening kick. -

My first ever regular season T/X game (have seen several playoffs meetings between the two). The crowd definitely has more of a homecoming or party atmosphere; not nearly as intense as the playoff games. -
Shawnee at Lexington Christian Academy Predictions/Updates

Obviously should be a blowout but it does look like Shawnee is taking some steps toward improvement, which is good to see. -
Clay County at Rockcastle County Predictions/Updates
gchs_uk9 replied to DevilMayCare's topic in KY Football (High School)
Intrigued by this one. Both have played well to start with but Clay hasn’t really beat anyone good and Rock’s best opponent was the Paris team that beat them. I think Rockcastle wins but I like what Sizemore has done at Clay County. -

My wife got it to work on her work computer. They emailed them to me but when I put it in my apple wallet the tickets don’t have a barcode. They do have a barcode in the email. So who knows - I guess I’ll find out once I’m there 😂. -

Is anyone else having trouble buying tickets online? I get all the information in but it won’t let me click confirm. I’ve tried on my phone, home computer, and work computer through both the St X and Trinity links with no luck. -

Best Coach in the State NOT to win a State Title?
gchs_uk9 replied to Down4theblue's topic in KY Football (High School)
Was the state’s winningest coach for many years before Walter Brugh at Paintsville passed him. A couple of others have passed him now, too. -
Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty (HBO)
gchs_uk9 replied to Jumper_Dad's topic in Television / Films / Music
I think ratings were poor. I loved the show and hope it gets picked up by some other company. The actors playing Jerry Buss, Magic, and Kareem were almost perfect. -
I do not remember RPIs being above 1.0 in previous years. Has the formula been tweaked?

I saw on the KHSAA site that this is a Thursday game for anyone who might be making the trip.
