  1. It was within the link discussing Class 6A being wide open this season, although I think it's better to have it's own thread.
  2. Agreed. Solid team and really difficult place to play. I’d still probably call the District 2 team the favorite but it would be a great game.
  3. Last week was full of open weeks but this week should be really interesting. CAL and Central are probably playing to see who is the 3A favorite, Lloyd is looking to prove they’re a top tier 3A team, Hart and Glasgow have playoff implications in their game, and Franklin-Simpson is stepping up in class for a challenge to their undefeated season.
  4. This is a really big game. If Glasgow loses, they're all but assured the #3 seed. If Glasgow wins, next week's Hart/Franklin game could have playoff implications for all three teams. I think whichever team is the three seed would still be favored in the first round of the playoffs, but I'd much prefer a home game to a road game in round one.
  5. If you made me pick today, I’d say Trinity is the favorite with Male and Douglass just behind. As someone else mentioned, the RPI will be a factor.
  6. I’m not as convinced about Scott County just yet. They’ve not really beat anyone good and their best opponent, Boyle County, routed them from the opening kick. That said, with remaining games against South Oldham, Woodford, and Lexington Catholic, the Cardinals will have a chance to move into the top tier of Class 5A.
  7. If they are both one seeds, I’d say Mercer would host Larue while Rockcastle would host either Magoffin or Powell.
  8. Scott is one of the most respected referees in Kentucky. He’s been the assigning secretary for the 12th Region for several years, a region that has quite a good mix of older, medium, and younger officials. I don’t know if he can improve numbers across the board but there’s no one I’d rather have doing the job than him.
  9. I wouldn’t pick Rockcastle to beat anyone on this list “convincingly.” I do think they are capable of beating anyone outside of the top 3. I think Bell was a little over-inflated before this week. Allowing so many points to Boyd and Whitley didn’t bode well, and they did the same against Rockcastle. That said, any time you win at Log Mountain it’s a good win and it definitely was for Rock.
  10. Have some good friends in Logan County and have kept an eye on them the last several years. They've been very solid the last few seasons but it seems like athletic opponents are their kryptonite. Like you, I do think they'll be a tough out in the postseason.
  11. 39 points in seven games is just not going to get it done. Roster on KHSAA looks pretty young. One season growing pains for the Bulldogs or a downward trend?
  12. Caught me by surprise with this one. Probably locks up a very winnable home playoff game for Crittenden County, although the three-seed should also be favored against the second district team.
  13. When in doubt, always choose the frontiersman over the statesman!
  14. Central at CAL in two weeks should be a lot of fun. And you might see it again the first weekend in December.
  15. I didn't realize until I looked at their schedule how many tough opponents Apollo has played. Owensboro, Owensboro Catholic, Bowling Green, Meade County. Hard to judge them against such good competition, but a solid showing tonight.
  16. That's a Calpreps predictor score if I ever saw one, right down to the Walton-Verona field goal!
  17. Wayne's pre-district schedule was pretty weak and even at 5-0, they weren't exactly routing those teams. I think it has shown against Taylor and Lincoln the last two weeks.
  18. Absolutely. I think this was the game every had marked as "truth or fiction" about Rockcastle. They definitely passed the test.
  19. Yeah, Garrard has been in some pretty tough districts the last couple of alignments before this year. They've shown improvement throughout this season but tonight (especially the first half) was the sharpest the offense has looked all year. Still missing a key lineman who hopefully will be back next week. Hopefully the Golden Lions can finish strong.
  20. It feels like we've talked a lot about Boyle, Corbin, and CovCath in Class 4A but the Flyers have been pretty impressive all season, in particular the defense. Allowing 9.5 points per game is solid. I continue to think the Class 4A playoffs will be a whole lot of fun from about round two on.
  21. Golden Lions jumped out early with two quick touchdowns and were in control the rest of the way. If they can win in two weeks (after the bye) against Marion County it would likely secure a home playoff game for the first time since 2014.
