Louisville 96 Kentucky 88

Final. Congrats to Louisville. A good win for the Cards who are going to have a very good season. I think they will challenge Duke for the ACC title. It is good for the state for both the Cats and the Cards to have very good teams.

The Cats play Eastern Illinois at Rupp on Friday before taking on Michigan State next Tuesday in the State Farm Champions Classic at MSG this year.

The fact that Kentucky couldn’t keep themselves in the game from the free throw line is a joke. Mark Pope a disciple of the hard core Rick Pitino days, and his guys can’t be clutch at the line? Unacceptable.

Both teams should have really good years. There is a lot to like with both teams.

At the beginning of the 2nd half I was thinking, FREE THROWS are what’s going to play a HUGE factor at the end of the game…. Dang!

The difference in this game was the turnovers 14-6 and the Cards outscored the Cats by 9 at 19-10 on points off turnovers. The Cats actually ended up out shooting the Cards from 2, 3 and the foul line and out rebounded them as well.

Louisville had the better team, I’m just glad they played that way. I knew IF they played to their potential they would win, history has just taught me not to expect it.

Mikel is a DAWG.

No rest for the weary. Cats gotta focus on getting better and I believe they will.

I kept hearing how UK was going to dominate the Cards in the paint.

Maybe in March. I still think UK has the better team once they get everyone healthy, but that's what we have to look forward to.

They did not dominate but they did out score them 40-36 and outrebounded them 42-40. They outshot them from 2's, 3's and FT's but the difference was turnovers and points off turnovers. Plus, the Cards were more aggressive with the ball and got to the line 15 more times and made 9 more than the Cats.

They definitely do not have better guards.

If you would have told me that was the front court advantage UK would have in this game, I would have told you Louisville would win.
