They’ll let him finish what he started which is fine and the right thing to do. I’m not sure Stein would be able to be as gracious though if a better opportunity comes along if he excels the expectations in Lexington. Should be a good hire but with all these moving parts in CFB and playing amongst the best in the SEC you just never know.

I asked what I thought was a serious question @TheDeuce. Please explain my ignorance that made you laugh. 😂

I don’t see Charlie Strong leaving the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to be a coordinator for someone he coached who is 30 years younger than him with zero HC experience.

I’m just glad it wasn’t Hartline. I can live with Stein.

Will has his work cut out for him.

I like the hire, but I definitely would have preferred Hartline.

I know very little about either, outside what I've read the last two days. Why do you prefer Hartline over Stein? Is just the Ohio recruiting base or something else?

I know you asked @futurecoach but I'll give my opinion. Hartline and Stein were 1A 1B for me. The benefit of getting Hartline would be his dominance in the pipeline that we are already recruiting. Stein doesn't have that around here, and there have been some questions with his recruiting. The benefit of getting Stein as opposed to Hartline in my opinion is that this may not just be a stepping stone job for Stein. In a day where a lot of coaches are staying put (Vandy, Indiana, Missouri, Nebraska, etc.), maybe Stein stays with the team he grew up cheering for.
