#2 Boyle County at #5 Elizabethtown (3A State Semifinals)
SX1250.1 replied to charlesw88's topic in KY Football (High School)
These two teams look evenly matched according to the stats and common opponents. Would not be surprised if a field goal decided this one. -
Right now I would rank the 4 remaining teams as follows 1. Central 2. Boyle 3. E-town 4. Corbin Would not favor one team over another by more than a few points and wouldn't be surprised if both games this Friday are blowouts. After last night its all but a tossup.

KHSAA shows kickoff at 7:30pm will that be central time? -
I wish we could all accept defeat with as much class as Watusi. What Belfry has accomplished over the last several years is remarkable and the players, coaching staff and fans should be very proud of what this team has accomplished. The vast majority of high school football teams in the state would love to be in your shoes.

#3 Corbin vs. #4 Central (3A State Semifinals)

How could you not go with Central after last night. If Corbin did pull of the upset it would be almost as shocking as Centrals win over Belfry. -
Congrats to both clans of Titans!

Highlight of the night for the Knights was the fan that brought fireworks to shoot off when Catholic scored. Hilarious! I salute you good sir. -

I predicted a WOT performance by the Ads! With Desales taking it on the chin tonight Danville has a lock on 2A! -
Man was I wrong. I thought it could go in Centals favor, but I thought 20 points would be a big score for either team.
-
I thought the same thing. Figured there would be much more back and forth over this game. LCA had a lot of momentum in the first game until the interception that led to a quick score for Danville to end the half. If they can find that rhythm again this game could be close. But I think Danville will be WOT right from the opening kick and win this one convincingly.

Would like to see South Warren make a game of this and they might stay within striking distance into the second half but the Purples will pull away and win 36 - 17 -

Both teams can score plenty, I will give the nod to Collin's defense in this one. -
#3 Corbin vs. Powell County (3A Quarterfinals)

This game has the best chance of having a running clock in the 3A quarter finals. Corbin 49 Powell Co. 17 -

I think 20 points might win this game. Cant see either of these defenses giving up 40. -
Last night against Western Hills Boyle was able to pressure the QB with some success even with a 3 man front most of the time. The problem I saw was the receivers getting behind our D-backs by a step or two on several plays. If the QB had one more beat before he got ride of the ball there could have been 5 or 6 big plays. And on 2 or 3 of those he had time, just thought he was running out of time and hurried the throw I think. LexCath will hit those plays more often than not so pass rush and coverage will both have to be better. I think this game will be much closer than the first meeting. Home field will be a big benefit for the Rebels and might be the difference in the game. Boyle will need to clean up some unnecessary penalties and hope we don't get the same officiating crew that was here the first meeting.

This is a pretty good indicator of the fact that private schools have a huge advantage over public programs. 4 out of the top 10 and top 3 are all private. Its time to give them there own class.
