Lincoln County finished 3-7, losing to Montgomery County 33-39.

North Laurel finished 8-2, beating Clay County 55-13.

The teams enter the postseason heading in two different directions, North Laurel is on a 4 game winning streak, while Lincoln County is on a 4 game slide.

North Laurel has won their first round playoff game for 3 straight years.

The teams had 3 common opponents:

North Laurel beat South Laurel 36-12, beat East Jessamine 36–0, beat Clay County 55-13

Lincoln County lost to South Laurel 27-33, lost to East Jessamine 26-27, beat Clay County 42-6

Who wins?

Lincoln has some good skill players, if everyone is healthy they have a chance. The QB Bryson Yaden is a tremendous athlete. They had an injury or two last week that might make this a difficult challenge.

North Laurel 41-14.

Lincoln somewhat randomly beat North Laurel in the regular season last year (it was their only win). I think both teams are better than their 2016 versions, but North Laurel is the better overall team. Lincoln competes for a half but North Laurel wins comfortably.

Everyone from Lincoln is healthy and at 100%.

They have a good core of players and should have a better record than what they have.

Not being combative, but why should they have a better record than what they have? The program has been below average to mediocre since Larry French left. They have lost some close games this season, but their defense has not stopped a good rushing attack all season. My pick would be North Laurel by 2+ TD's.

They had us beat at rockcastle and should have won the game, my buddy coaches youth there and a lot of losses came at very close scores and they have played a very tough schedule.

They have some great athletes that make plays

I will not discount that they have playmakers, but defensively they are just not very good. They have gave up 41, 48, 33 and 39 the last four games of the season. Not to mention giving up 41 to the Rock, and another game of 40 as well. Last season, they gave up the most points in the program's history. They may win, but undoubtedly it would have to be a shootout.

North Laurel has a really good running game, which Lincoln won't be able to stop. Lincoln may hang around for a while, but North is just too physical and will put it away comfortably.

Running clock North Laurel wins easy
