This poll seems pretty accurate although I think Holmes is a little high. Campbell can beat Cooper and CovCath this year but until they prove it on the court they should be #3.

Fair enough. In my opinion they are overrated. I've seen Male play this year and mentioned in another thread I thought they might be ranked too high. Butler is good, taking nothing from them. But I think Male is more like #15-20 type team this year. IMHO.

No, haven't seen many games. The couple I saw last year they had a lot of turnovers. Over 20 in one game. I'm sure they've improved (well hopefully they have) in this area but I don't think anyone who saw them play last year would not agree it was an issue. I think Ryle is the better team, but last year they asked bigs to handle the ball like guards (when I saw them) and it didn't go well (when I saw them play).

Heard Campbell frosh boys will be good this year. Any games/scores yet for them?

Lexi Stapleton has always been on the verge of being a great player. If Scott is going to have a good season it will be because she is coming into her own. 8th grade PG for Ryle and bigs that generally struggle with holding onto the ball, Scott should bring the pressure. If Ryle can't handle it, they will lose.

Campbell has too many great shooters. Only way they lose is if Franklin finds a way to keep them from getting good shots off.

I am sure WV will have a decent team this year. But the Lady Camels are going to be a top team this year, I just don't see WV ever really challenging this Campbell team. The scrimmage might not represent a real game fully but it's a helpful indicator. Campbell could beat any team in NKY this year.

That all makes sense. Only interesting part would be all the T's on the Male coach.. If he were experimenting and didn't care about the score, would he be so rattled? I also agree with the other poster that says summer and pre-season are two different things. But overall your right that it's scrimmages and they should only influence pre-season rankings in a small way.

Owensboro Catholic and now Campbell County beat Male in scrimmages... Maybe #2 is a little high? Or at least Campbell and Owensboro Catholic should be in top 20

U Asked a Ryle friend, she's not playing. Focusing on track at a National level. She must be serious fast! Too bad for Ryle they could use more guard players. They were really strong and tall inside but when I saw them last year they couldn't keep up with the guards they were playing against. I know they have the 8th grader (saw she made the Top 20 girls in Bullitt East this weekend) but they seem to be a team full of forwards and centers. If they struggle this year, I think that will be why.

From what I've seen I would have to agree. SK and Lafayette are good teams this year, but IMHO these teams are a different level

Why would McGregor not be playing? Saw her play with Legacy a few times. Great athlete!

I am not saying Highlands basketball will not be good this season, although the times I've seen them (last year or this summer) I was not too impressed. However to speak of CCH and Highlands in the same breath as a basketball rivalry seems unreasonable. CovCath basketball is in a stretch right now where there are amongst the states best every year. And with what they have in the system it doesn't look like it's going to slow down. I think Highlands is fighting just to be a top ten NKY team this year. Again, not saying Highlands is bad or anything. Just depends on who your comparing them to

Just cause of having a lot of athletes SK will be good. But this might be the year they surprise some people. JC is a real player and they have all the pieces needed to be good I think

IHM is an AAU team? Any answer to who they played for this summer or even last summer?

I'm not doubting whether St Henry can reload and be better. But I'm curious what AAU team/program did all these girls play for this summer? None of the names listed in the first post sound familiar...did they all play together somewhere?

Campbell should be on this list or Mason County should be lower. I understand Mason over Campbell right now but not that high above. IMHO

I'm not sure it's that's always the case, totally depends on how good the guards are and how good the post players are. Campbell is guard heavy but they were able to stop Ryles big good post players no problem last year

How is Neice looking? Has she been able to sustain her speed and quickness? That is challenging for most high school girls as they head into their upperclassmen years. Heard she played some EYBL this summer, no slow play going on there! Without Krohmann who are the guards now? Is Ally playing the 1 or 2?

So... Is there really a "gag order" for NDA parents and supporters to comment/discuss on forums? I'd like to hear who is looking good? Jenna Martin is a stud, I would think she's one of the top 2-3 PG's in nky. Who else will step up? Do they have strong inside players? What about the Hagen girl? Is she looking good? What do their younger players look like?

JC can shoot lights out. As good as McNeil. No question. But the physical attributes are more questionable. He is pretty skinny and not very strong. Can't play inside physically really. And he lacks quickness to keep up with some guards around the perimeter. This affects him offensively and defensively. With that said though - he is an all-around top player in NKY. Not sure about top 10 but top 15, top 20 for sure. Only a junior, he has another year to bulk up and add speed.
