IMO, They have been investing in and developing players for longer. Their freshman and JV programs have been stronger. They have more athletic kids because of their private school draw. I believe Beechwood is a very good team this year and CC handled them well. CC also fared better against Ryle. Those are most of my reasons.

This seems super confusing... Will the state be posting the math results for all this? This is either going to work out really well for Ohio or it's going to be a mess!

I don't see this highlands team (or next years) beating covcath. Highlands has had a storied run, it's not unreasonable to think they can get back to their old glory. I've been saying since before the season started this was the case with these generations of highlands teams. The community and coaches have to put in the development work now like most every other public school program to get back to their glory. But for the foreseeable near future it's going to be "building years". Just IMHO

The Camels have a lot in the pipeline. Maybe not next year but the year after that and for several years they are going to be a VERY tough team.

Yeah we are going to radically disagree on this one. Your rational seems irrational. I agree with other posters here, this is the worst Highlands team in decades. Worst overall athletic players they've had in a long time. This doesn't mean there aren't a few good players/athletes... Just a lot less than I've ever seen in over 25 years. I also agree with others about that the kicker. He is the best high school kicker I've ever seen.

St.X has their backups in by the third quarter. Highlands doesn't have the athletes they used to have.

Hoping the Camels can pull off the big upset! You never know on Friday nights what could happen.

They beat a really good Highlands team so I expected them to be better. People I know close to the program felt they would do really well this year also. From the looks of those scores it seems we have had too high expectations. Hopefully the girls move forward with a stronger season

Campbell wins. They are better than all the 9th region teams this year with the exception of maybe NDA. Maybe.

I know they have a lot of losses, but Covington Catholic can beat all three teams just above them. I'd have them at #5 just behind Beechwood.

Campbell County is not only the favorite for the 10th region, but they are going to make some noise at the state tournament this year.

Ha, I'm allowed to believe in the Camels. I bet there are 60 high school boys that believe they can win too!

This seems the most plausible winners to me. I know there's some doubters but I think Beechwood wins it all easy, Trinity too.

I can't believe it's happened before. If the authorities (legal and football) don't have a strong punishment it will only affirm the terrible decision these boys made. 55,000 views on this video, wonder if the two boys ever saw it? Someday a baseball player is going to get seriously hurt by a purposeful thrown pitch and baseball will have to deal with their immature, reactive boys too.

Congrats to Cole on the offers! I have only seen him play once or twice and to be honest I think my expectations were too high. He was good but I have seen quite a few players around the state that would be more "high D1" level players. It's possible he just had an off day when I saw him play. I hope he gets those big time offers!

As much as I believe Highlands is going to have a couple of down years I just can't imagine taking an unproven nky team over Highlands at home. There's too much tradition in my mind I guess. Highlands by 3.

The Camels can play good football. They can win this game. Cooper seems up and down this year too, so I'm taking CC by 3.

Sounds like some good holiday tournaments are coming together for this Winter. But IMHO I think the King of the Bluegrass is the best one. Great games every year, fun to watch

Congrats to the Weyer family! I was thinking Ben was good enough to go D1 somewhere when I saw him play. But if your thinking about getting a good education to prepare for life then it's not always about getting into the best school athletic-wise. Great decision, great school, great player

Seems a lot of this thread was used up discussing the grand history of Dale Mueller's reign... Maybe another thread for that next time. I think Scott County will win by 2-3 TD's. Highlands doesn't have enough athletes and size to keep up with a big 6A school as good as SC.

Saw this kid play in an AAU tournament when he was an 8th grader... Wow he was good. He deserves this, he's clearly put in the work. Congratulations!

There are a lot of people speaking up on here that they think Campbell will win this game, but the voting says people aren't that convinced. I hope the Camels win the game soundly, but its going to be a tough hill to climb I think.

Lexi Stapleton will be good. She will raise the level of the Scott play and bring them to a place where they can compete with Mason County and Campbell. As I said I don't think Scott will be better, but just not a wide margin.

I don't know about a wide margin. Mason County girls have been working hard, and I think they and the Lady Camels will battle for the top place. But Scott has talent and I would be surprised if they didn't make some waves and cause these two teams some issues. Number three right now probably, but I'm just thinking the margin isn't wide.
