Montgomery looked good once they got over first game jitters. Freshman Brennan Canada saw several minutes tonight for Montgomery County.

Bracken will be a team to deal with come district/region.

I can't believe that MOCO pulled the upset....even at home. Bracken is a legit top 3 team in the Region. I had MOCO at 8 or 9 in the Region. I'm sure Bracken will regroup and get back on track quickly.......

I don't think big schools get first game jitters playing at home and playing a team they thought would be easy. I say they probably did get jitters after the first half (28-22) when they realized that the #9 ranked Polar Bears could upset #2 Indians. Yes there were some questionable calls by the refs, for both sides. Defensive and rebounding is much improved from last year. This is going to be a great season!

BGP has an article where MoCo is 2nd and Bracken is 9th

Sorry guys, and no offense, but I disagreed then and obviously still do. I think Bracken is the team to beat in the 10th. They'll bounce back.

I will respectfully disagree with your opening statement. All schools have first game jitters!

I really like our boys play tonight left a few points out there but all in all play well against a very good Montgomery county team it was definitely a game to use as a measuring stick see how you fare in the 10th region.

Montgomery county is a very good team and well deserved of their second place ranking they should be a contender this season

Is this a joke?

How did Crawford play??

How did Crawford play??

29 pts 11 rebounds

Good first game of the year. The Indians were really good when all their starters were on the floor, but foul trouble limited time for several of them. Walker and Combs both fouled out and Jones had to sit for a while due to fouls as well.

Jones had 18 and 8 for the Indians, followed by Parsley's 14. Fuller had 11 and 4 assists while Combs grabbed 12 rebounds.

Crawford led the way for Bracken Co with 29. He is an exceptional player, but he didn't get enough help in the second half when the rest of the Polar Bears combined for 1 field goal. Bracken Co, mainly Crawford, was very aggressive going to the basket and up until the visitors started fouling in the last couple minutes to extend the game, the Indians were whistled for nearly twice as many fouls.

Great start to the basketball season!

Looks like the 3rd quarter was the difference. Still a pretty good start for the Polar Bears.

Congratulations to MoCo on the win. Glad Shelby Combs is playing.

I'm not as surprised by this as Andonedad above, but I have to say I am somewhat surprised by this score. Montgomery County must be better than advertised. Congrats on the win MoCo!
