Freshman Brennan Canada saw several minutes tonight for Montgomery County.

 

Can you tell us more about him?

From what I'm seeing here, Montgomery County shot 50% from the floor (27-54), 21.4% from 3 (3-14), & 40% from the charity stripe (4-10). Bracken County shot 36.7% from the floor (18-49), 14.3% from 3 (1-7), & 59.3 % from the FT line (16-27). And it looks like the Polar Bears won the battle of the boards 36-26.

 

Anybody know the turnover numbers?

I think Montgomery Co had 10. It was pretty similar.

Art Walker was not on Crawford. Coach used Cody Parsley on Crawford. Crawford is good, BUT if the Indians had been playing help side defense correctly, Crawford would not have made it to the rim as many times as he did.

 

I think the Indians started Walker on Crawford, but his time was limited due to some foul issues. Parsley had Crawford in the second half.

Can you tell us more about him?

 

6'3" or 6'4" (I'm 6'4 1/2" and we look all most eye to eye). He reminds me of a young Omar Prewitt. Played at the KBA Middle School 8th grade tourney last year and was named to the All-Tourney team. Has played travel ball since 3rd or 4th grades. Played for Hoop Dreams this past year.

We missed just a few too many shots in the end. Hamilton never got into the flow of the game with foul trouble. Really liked how our boys fought till the end and never gave up. Had started to cut into the lead MoCo got in the 3rd but seemed like once we would get it to 6-7 the MoCo would come up with a timely basket.

 

Good game and a nice measuring stick to see where the Polar Bears stand in the region. Looking for the boys to get after it in pratice and build on this.

Brennan is about 6'5 and very long. Skilled and a good shooter. Biggest issue I've seen is confidence. Needs to realize how good he is and can be.
