Every team will score 30-60 points a game. And every team will usually have a player with 5-7 rebounds per game and a player or two average 10+ points a game. Just because your that player on your team doesn't make you better than other players on different teams with better players. That's why a team like Mason will have 3-5 players on a list like this. Being the best player on your team (averaging 8 rbs and 10 ppg) doesn't mean you should be on this list. Autumn Martin for Nicholas County averaged 14 ppg and 7 rpg so she "should make the list", Madison Kellione (sophomore guard Harrison County) averaged 12 ppg and 4 rpg so she "should make the list" too? Every team has those players, especially if there's a taller inside player (more rare) they just show up and they're going to lead the team in rebounds.

Being the best player on your team shouldn't qualify you for this list. McNutt should be on the list. In addition, IMO, Igo is too high, Schwarber is too low. But otherwise the list is pretty decent.

Rankings seem pretty accurate. Top 4 teams will be tough. Mason deserves the top spot until beaten. I think GRC second might be a bit high since it's pretty unknown how the team is going function, new players and all. But teams 2-4 will likely battle for the runner up spot behind MC.

Odd, I thought I heard the guy that directed and ran all NKY Kentucky Premier teams was not doing them again? If he is out then who is organizing all the teams here in NKY?

Heard Kentucky Premier teams in the NKY area are folding? Didn't they just get started? Anyone have details?There were probably more NKY girls playing on a Premier team than any other program, that would leave a huge void. Legacy and Kings would really benefit

That's a fairly silly comment. If someone put out incorrect information publicly on this thread then you should feel some responsibility to correct the information with facts so there is no/less libel. Otherwise you just sound silly.

Maybe, I can see the logic in that. But two things: The above posters did not reference not developing younger players. Also, do soccer coaches do a lot of that besides running a kids camp to make some $, I don't think I've ever seen high school coaches working directly with youth soccer programs in their area to develop their future talent. Heck, a lot of football coaches don't do that either.

Totally looking at this program from the outside, but some of these responses seem odd. An incredibly talented team for several years with a state runner up. That's pretty amazing. Coach leaves a year or two ago? Heard took a college job? Now the program is down and everyone is blaming the past coaches and team that did so well for why the team is bad now? From the outside it looks like losing the head coach caused the tail spin. Again, just looking from the outside. A lot of this doesn't seem to make a lot of sense? Seems more like personal bias on some peoples part, not objective reasoning?

I'm not a believer that the Bolus rankings are 100% correct either. But as I've mentioned before let's try to have real examples of why Bolus is so off and who is missing. Like the above poster ^^^^^ if your so confident a Bolus ranked player isn't even best on their own team then share who this great player is and where they should be ranked. Like the above poster mentioned, at least Bolus has done a lot of research, so the list is there for discussion purposes. Not hurt feelings of parents that feel slighted and want to leave curt, bitter comments.

Have to agree with Carpediem here. I think the top four teams are the correct teams but the order seems a little much. GRC is counting on transfers, Scott has experience. Campbell lost a few but have several good players back. Mason deverves the top ranking until beaten though. All seniors, playing together for years, final four two seasons ago. If Mason ends the season as number four in the region it would be shocking. Can any of the other three beat MC in the regions and head to state, yes, could happen. But preseason Mason is #1 or #2.

Fair point. Campbell County Mason County Montgomery County Pendleton County Scott Bracken County Not a huge separation between bracken and Pendleton but I think this year Allen makes a statement. Pendletons one man show will be on a different level than Brackens IMO. I would have Scott higher, I really think they will be contenders for the region at the end of the year, but I'm unsure how the coaching change will effect them.

Love the Camels pick at the top. But it feels like your still low on Pendleton county and mason county still. I am not sold on Bracken or Paris making a huge splash this year. Bracken is a one man show and Paris isn't deep enough IMO.

Campbell played a good game vs a good East Central team. Offense is improving, and it sounds like this years Bluebirds defense is a good place to get it going. Highlands will be favored because it's Highlands, but I think this game will be close. If Highlands wins it will be in a dog fight.

Just for helping me to understand, when you say "outkicking the coverage" you mean girls getting attention beyond their skill set? I have wondered about a couple 2018 girls that are considered top girls from Premier, if they're as good as the attention they get? I've only seen a couple very few times and wasn't tremendously impressed. But to be fair, I've seen very little. Is that what you mean though?

Problem with all those rankings is they are not for Kentucky. For ESPN, there is one KY girl on 2019's, Cameron Browning. And five 2018s that don't even include Seygan Robbins or Ally Neice. The other services listed you can't even get their rankings without paying a thousand dollars, obviously for colleges only. I doubt they are very exhaustive for Kentucky either. Everybody hates on Bolus, but like I've said, I don't think anyone else is taking the time to rank hundreds of Kentucky girls? 95 percent of the girls on Bolus rankings will never get the attention of all the services you listed. Just because girls aren't big time Kentucky Premier players doesn't mean they shouldn't get some attention. I couldn't find the Sivils girl from Sacred Heart on any lists and she's got an offer from Marshall. Bolus list might not be perfect but can it really be completely bogus when no one else is taking the time to rank these girls? I just think we should give him credit for what he is doing.

I think we should try to be fair with this. What scouting service doesn't recruit for their camps? ESPN maybe? Like others have said, at least Bolus is trying to do a Kentucky only girls list. Are there any others at all for girls? And although attending a Bolus camp will definitely help you get on the list, I know they attend and watch games and rank from that also. I can't say for sure but I doubt all of the top 25 2017s have attended one of his camps. Hence why I think Louisville area players have an advantage with this ranking. I think Bolus and his team are out of that area.

Great thoughts! Does seem like the NKY crowd is not well represented on the list. I agree on some of your thoughts. Schwartz and Schwarber too low or missing. I'm guessing Graham is the smaller guard that came off the bench last year for Holmes. Definitely too high. Kia Sivils should be way higher, she has committed to a good D1 school, Marshall, already! The 9th grade list is obviously not very developed, so no surprise the Holy Cross girls are missing. Chames will be hard not to notice this season.

Would love to hear whose missing? Where should they fall in the rankings? As I mentioned there aren't many people ranking girls Ky basketball players. So instead of childish anti comments, how about some evidence and/or discussion to back up thoughts. I don't know a ton of girls around the state but the ones I have seen are represented pretty well on this list. Whose missing? Where should they be in the ranking? Whose too high? Too low? Why?

Well that's good info. I've no personal experience but I did talk to one person. They seemed to feel it's more about the colleges reading the interest from the potential players, than throwing out offers to 10 kids for 2 spots and then just taking the best ones. It does seem like colleges would just be out of control and offers would be thrown around with little significance. Offers, especially D1 offers do seem to carry some weight still? They also felt that every offer is commitable initially. They said things do/can change over time though. Are there colleges or coaches that have a reputation for this? I would think that would happen where some coaches are so liberal with their use of "offers" that people learn not to trust them?

That is interesting. How sure are you that this is true? It's hard to imagine a school making an offer, the player making a verbal commit and then the school saying "we were not really serious, we take it back". Could you give an example of what your talking about? I will ask some college coaches and players I know about it too.

Best teams this year - mercer county, male and butler Best players are Lindsay Duvall (Louisville school) and the girl from Butler committed to Dayton. Holmes high school won the 9th region and should be favorites again, only lost 1-2 players. Simon Kenton (8th region) and Mason County (10th region) favorites return all their players and will be strong candidates for the top NKY team along with Holmes.
