Will this be the team to get over the hump and get back to Rupp? Way too early to tell. I need to see the guards before I can make a prediction. The bigs are talented enough to compete with anyone in the 8th region.

On a semi related note. Bad news for last years stand out Matt Mullins. He was playing college ball for Capital U. in Columbus and landed wrong in practice and tore up his leg. He was just put into a cast and will miss his freshman season. Kid loves the game and worked really hard. Bummed for him.

Great kid, great family. I hate this for him but if he sticks with it he will have 3 more years of college level bball. Anyone that knows Matt knows he will work his tail off to get back.

This is terrible news to hear. Hoping for a quick and full recovery!

I haven't seen enough from the Centers on the roster to know how they will be at that position nor do I have a good feel for their depth but I think the other four starters (Cottrell, Hawkins, Fries and Sammons) can match up with just about any top four in NKY. I don't know enough about the southern teams in the 8th to know how they will match up against them but I really like their chances this year.

Prayers to Mullins he can play pretty good.

I look for 6'8 Kelch to start at the 5 spot. Or they could start Kitchens at the point. It will be interesting to see who all plays when football is over.

Can't wait to watch them scrimmage Western Brown Saturday.

Cottrell is probably the most underrated guard he is fun to watch.

I know at least 8 kids on the football team have played basketball before but I have no idea who will play this year.

He's not 6'8". He's my nephew, I'm root for SK basketball Kelch last measured at 6'5". (According to his doctor, more reliable source than SK's measurement.)

Still pretty tall.

They will be tall and long. Should be able to put up a lot of points...defensive on the other hand needs work. After Hawkins, not deep at point guard (true PG anyway). With Racke and Walker not returning.

Kitchens got some playing time. Kincaid and Vance can play PG.
