Ryle HS at Scott HS Predictions 12/1/15

Featured Replies

Tonight, the Ryle Raiders travel to Taylor Mill to take on the Scott Eagles for another interesting season opening matchup. Ryle, while coming in with a new coach and a new look, is ranked 3rd in the preseason NKY coaches poll. Although Scott is not ranked, there is no doubt the Eagles will be anxious to prove themselves, especially on their home court.

Any thoughts or predictions on this one? Who are some of the players that could have big nights? Will Ryle's size keep the Eagles from soaring or will the Eagles "raid" the pirates? :lol2:

Very interesting early matchup. I think it all depends on what Ryle team shows up. We all know they've had the tools the last couple years. I think you hit the nail on the head, does the new coach know what to do with those tools. If that answer is yes, then I like Ryle. If no, then Scott will beat them. Scott is looking to earn the respect of the doubters in the 10th and they are a good team. Tonight goes a long way in proving they can play with anyone.

I'll be front row for this one! Can't wait to kick off the season by watching 2 good teams battle it out!

Lexi Stapleton has always been on the verge of being a great player. If Scott is going to have a good season it will be because she is coming into her own. 8th grade PG for Ryle and bigs that generally struggle with holding onto the ball, Scott should bring the pressure. If Ryle can't handle it, they will lose.

Guessing you did not see many Ryle games last year. Of course you are correct that Ryle or any other team must handle the press to be successful.

No, haven't seen many games. The couple I saw last year they had a lot of turnovers. Over 20 in one game. I'm sure they've improved (well hopefully they have) in this area but I don't think anyone who saw them play last year would not agree it was an issue. I think Ryle is the better team, but last year they asked bigs to handle the ball like guards (when I saw them) and it didn't go well (when I saw them play).

With Legends family on both sides this will be a fun one to watch. I'll be in the rafters pulling for the team in blue!!!
