500 Record to make the playoffs. Up to 3 teams per district. 1 seeds get a buy. Bowl Eligible teams have to win 6.....

Why reward a team with 0 wins or a last place in the district the priviledge of playing in the playoffs? I think in round 1 10 teams won on the road. Blow outs will happen, I would like to see the playoffs mean more, be more competitive, and stop the good job you finished the season, now let's play a playoff game when we have no business being in th epost season.

Be careful Jellyroll, the coach T's Online Possey will come after you for speaking out against him. I did so a few years ago and had an assistant want to fight after a game that NH took one on the chin by PRP.

McCraken 42 Marshals 7 Is anyone suprised by this score? I remember the times when Marshall County Could play with anyone.....but now they can only beat the little sisters of the poor, home for wayward boys, and the school lowly 1a schools in western ky. The days of Jim Shelton and Mike Lawson are no more and LONG FORGOTTEN.

Was traveling through Bowling Green and stopped to have lunch with my family. We went to Roosters for a quick bite. We were seated by a group of athletes from Warren East Football. These young men were polite, respectful, and representing their school, familes, and coaches very well!! I want to thank the Warren East staff and the families of these players for doing things right... Good luck to them tonight in their scrimmage!

The freakout is just another example the collegiate football program creeping further into highschool sports. Parents are disillusioned to the idea that a high school football program is similar to or like a college program. In the 24 hour news cycle world we live in impatience is at an all time high. People have a microwave mindset ZERO Patience. There isnt but a couple of football programs in the commonwealth that is remotely close to a div 3 level college. You have seen high school coaches fired after 2 years, ZERO Loyalty, and no patience building programs...why would these parents and administrators be any different. we wont even get into the inflated value, prestige, or clout of their schools and programs.

I think the job if not coach Morris will be Hatchell's. hatchell being an afterthought would be wishful thinking for those in the camp of coach dew. Hatchell has one word....LONGEVITY! Coach dew is in his twilight.....how long til he can retire? Hatchell has 20 years maybe 25 left in him!

If the change happens..... I ask one questions......what is the average length of a head coach's tenure at mayfield??? With question in mind....you look at Dew and Hatchell for the in house hire...one candidate is wishful thinking and his friends on this thread should be thanked for their loyalty. The other candidate clearly has the shelf life to be the next head coach for a Long Long time. Another thing to consider....how many coaches on Mayfields staff has head coaching experience??? There are a few floating around, however if they all choose to throw their hats in the ring, that would fracture the staff and could doom the empire. SO it is my hunch..... that if there is a coaching change.... that decision has been made...and others will not be interviewed or even allowed to apply.

99.9% of Head Coaches at Every level (Mainly High School and Up) are hired to be fired.

Sadly we live in a world where loyalty, hard work, and character are gutted yearly in the name of Wins and things that dont really matter. Many coaches would never get in trouble or be on a "hot seat" were it not for these forums. Sports Casters, Sports Talk Radio cause many of these HOT SEATS in order to get ratings and get paid. My Point is, that someone maybe doing a great job considering their circumstances and boom a thread like this starts, and some crap for brains board member, assistant principal, or athletic director looking to make a name for themselves gets the idea that maybe their coach isnt doing what they should. This leads for the aforementioned idiot (looking to stroke their own ego) to bring down heat, pressure, and potential family problems on a man who is hired to teach school first and coach football second. I am sure these threads are fun, but all they do is cause pain and stir the pot.....and I aint talking about a cooking pot. I am talking about a squatting pot.....and it is my belief that whoever stirs the pot should lick the spoon. However in the day of anonymity and keyboard experts.....those individuals dont get to be held accountable for the garbage they bring down on others. (I have had my darker days and fed into this and was very vocal about a coach I didnt care for, and in hindsight, I would been a much better man for keeping my opinions to myself.)

Man the Danville Hate is high on this thread. seems to me a few Peach Haters were on here implying it was Danville that canceled on Boyle but low and behold Danville pops up with a game..... Seems to me that the value of many of the postings on this board are shall we say.....low rent????

This issue sounds to me that one word will sum it up. Loyalty. Those of us from the CU coaching factory know that Loyalty is by far the most important thing for any Head Coach to ask for and for any head coach to give. Talent, Resume, Relationships with Kids, Parents, Community, Admin means nothing if you cant be loyal to the coach, the program, and the values being taught. A disloyal assistant coach will ruin a teams culture, cause crazy strife and must be dealt with quickly.

Where was Coach Bowling the past season? and why did he choose murray at such a late date in the off season? Whats the backstory for his departure? Being such an accomplished coach with multiple state championships and in multiple states.........was he on the shelf and available? Sure seems to have bounced around a good deal or am I missing something?

The 95 team is in the schools Athletic Hall of Fame. The Senior and Junior class that year produced several young men who played at the next level. The marshals success in those years was all about a physical ball control offense and defense. Many people hated watching the Wishbone and the old 52 monster but with big physical kids who were hard nosed and tough, that style of play kept the marshals competitive. Seems

Joe Washington was head coach at North Hardin for years as well as with Joe Jaggers at Ft knox for many seasons.

Does Jumpin Joe Washington still have ties to Evangel? I know in the past he had been extremely involved in the church and maybe even coached basketball. HE could be a great inspiration to start the program back up

How would a move to Highlands be achievable? Isnt Coach Wolfe heavily invested in a few businesses and business opportunities in the louisivllle area. I know you guys speculate all kinds of stuff to keep things exciting and to have something to talk about, but.....realistically, how could a guy leave Hundreds of thousands of dollars in business ventures for a coaching and teaching position and a coaching stipend?

I played at MC from 1993 - 96 and later returned to coach there when I started my career in education. I was blessed to be apart of some great success at Marshall county as a player. I know the term "entitled" does seem cliche but I am speaking from multiple experiences. One thing that most people do not know about Marshall county is that most people there are pretty well off. There is quite a bit of money and pretty good to great jobs in the area. Many of the folks who are born there never leave. They are MC for life. You know that a hungry dog hunts best, and well lets say the dogs there have it pretty good and just aren't too hungry. The last thing I will say in regards of this is that many of the young men who are playing now are the kiddos of the guys I played with in the 90's and watched in the late 80's. Those fella's me included have been called entitled, and we know that apples don't fall far from the tree or get out of the orchard. I hope the new coach is able to handle all the challenges that he has signed up for! He will need some folks he can trust and will help him lay down the law in his program! We will see how serious the administration is here at Marshall county by how many new coaches they let the new guy bring into the building to bolster the program.
