Evangel Christian is resurrecting their football stadium for the 2021 football season. It was reported back in November 2020 that they had hired Western High School coach Demarcus Smith as their new coach, but the deal seemingly has not lasted; Evangel posted to social media on January 7th that they are currently accepting applications for the head coach position.

Does Jumpin Joe Washington still have ties to Evangel?  I know in the past he had been extremely involved in the church and maybe even coached basketball.  HE could be a great inspiration to start the program back up

I'm not familiar with the name. For that matter, I'm not too too familiar with Evangel, top to bottom, aside from some general info I've gotten from reading about them in the last couple-few months.

Joe Washington was head coach at North Hardin for years as well as with Joe Jaggers at Ft knox for many seasons.

 

Think Washington is long retired his son Joe is a HC at a middle school in Jeffersonville though.

From what I understand, the "announcement" of Demarcus Smith in November was premature. My understanding is they are now going through the official process. I'm told the job will officially be given to Smith in the near future.
