Danville turmoil

Will they have enough to play his weekend after 15 players walked out after a coach was fired?  This is on Larry Vaught’s Facebook page so it is not a rumor. Looks like trouble in paradise? Honeymoon is over!

The bottom line is if you are the DC and the head coach has a problem with something you are doing on that side of the ball and he tells you to do it a different way you do it a different way.  Same a

Larry Vaught is now reporting that all of the boycotting players returned to practice today.

  • I am concerned about that too but I would say to any Danville players reading this you will never get this chance back so suck it up and be a team player, you will be glad you did.

I'm hearing 11 starters. Kids was upset about Coach Peach letting Coach Tony McCombs go. The kids must of loved him to skip out on practice on his behalf.

I'm hearing Peach dont listen to none of his assistant coaches and everything is his way or no way!

Coach McCombs said he did not ask any players to do this and he is going to encourage them to go back to the team.

This is really sad.

Sounds like Danville may need to find a new head coach. Have serious problems if that many kids walk out.

There were rumors around Western KY last year that Peach, while a heck of a coach, was a total control freak. It seems that those rumors may be more than just rumors.

Very unfortunate. Hopefully there is some type of resolution everyone can get on board with.

Kids want to play at all costs, so for that many to walk away shows how strongly they feel about the situation.

If I was the kids and coaches at Danville I think I would listen to Peach... he the best you could find... and a notable, respected coach..... Too many people seem to want to like him since when did that make a good football team? ........ You wont get a better one if he can't find success there.

What is one to to if he is a total control freak? It works when winning but when you lose you get called out? Looks like McCombs did not like the ways things were going and he has been around all types of coaches in college and the NFL? When you are to stubborn to change there could be problems. Several have called him out over his control issues so there might be something to this. Hope it gets worked out as these kids need to play after they lost most of last year!

The kids are always the ones that suffer the most.

Wasn’t he forced out at Anderson for similar reasons?
